Meydieu is a 19th century farmhouse set in a peaceful location surrounded by picturesque countryside. The house is spacious, cool and bright. There are three en-suite bedrooms, sleeping 6-7. In addition, there is a sofa bed and another shower room. The living area is open plan. The pool is not overlooked and is not shared. There is a small fishing lake about 50m from the house.

Nearest Airport: Bergerac at 25 Miles
Nearest Ferry: Bilbao at 230 Miles
Nearest Train: Agen (TGV) at 35 Miles
Nearest Motorway: Agen at 35 Miles

The village has all the essentials, baker, butcher, two mini markets, pharmacy, garage and a post office. There is a Portuguese bar restaurant, a useful place to stop for a drink after a hard days sight seeing. The nearest town of any size is Cancon, about 5 miles away. They have some larger shops, a couple of restaurants and a bank. Villeneuve–sur-Lot is about 17 miles away and has two retail parks with all the usual large French stores, Leclerc, Auchan etc. In the immediate vicinity, there are golf courses at Tombeboeuf (9 holes) 6 miles away and a superb course at Castlenaud 10 miles away. There are lakes at Tombeboeuf and Lougrat. Meydieu is located between the Lot and Dordogne rivers. All the normal river activities are catered for such as boat trips and canoe hire. Monbahus, though not a bastide town itself, is on the “Circuit des Bastides” and many are nearby including Castillones, Monflanquin, Castlenaud and Villereal.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Changeovers are usually on Saturdays. Arrive around 4pm and vacate by 10am. It may be possible to arrange changeovers on other days in the low season to take advantage of cheaper flights.

    A discount will be available for lets of more than two weeks.

    A set of linen and towels per person per week will be provided. Please bring your own pool towels.

    Your welcome pack will include fresh bread and milk along with some other essentials.

    A cash deposit of £100/150 Euros for breakages is required.

Meydieu is set in about 8 acres. The garden is about 3 acres, mostly grass with a number of trees including peach, pear, hazelnut and walnut. There are terraces on three sides of the house. The lake is not owned by us, but our guests are permitted to use it for fishing. Meydieu has 200 sq m of accommodation on two levels . The house is ideal for six people, but can easily accommodate up to nine. Ground floor; Bedroom with king size bed. En-suite shower room with hand basin, bidet and WC. Spacious open plan lounge with wood burning fire and three piece suite. For the colder months we have under floor heating. Dining area with pine table which easily seats ten. Well equipped kitchen with modern oak units and granite worktops. Separate shower room with hand basin, and WC. First floor; Bedroom 2 with double four-poster bed and single bed. The single bed could be moved to bedroom 3 if required. En-suite Bathroom with separate shower, hand basin, bidet and WC.
