Fabulous Holiday at Barn House

Review Submitted: June 27, 2011 Date of Stay: May 2010
"Thank you Jenny for a lovely week in the cottage, you have done a great job with the refurbishments to the kitchen and bedrooms , but as I said get them on the internet to show them off more!" See you in November and we will recommend to all our family and friends - but please leave room for us to return in the diary.

Perfect Location

Review Submitted: June 27, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
Our stay in Barn house last year has reminded what a great holiday we had in the Lake District and we are set to return again next year. The cottage was perfect for our family and friends- immaculately clean and very convenient for the hills and of course the pub nearby- we made ourselves really at home.

Barn House - excellent location

Review Submitted: March 19, 2011 Date of Stay: March 2011
We stayed at the Barn House for 3 nights earlier this month and were delighted with the property and its location at the heart of the village. The property was clean, well-maintained and attractively furnished and presented. The kitchen was very well equipped with all "mod-cons" including a dishwasher. The bathroom, which has a bath and separate shower enclosure, was very clean and it was useful having a separate WC downstairs. The view from the master bedroom towards Skiddaw is terrific.

The house is literally next door to the Royal Oak Hotel where we enjoyed good ales (Jennings) and good food. Although so close to the pub there was no noise or disturbance in the evening. There is only parking for one car at the house and as we had 3 cars between us we parked the others on the street nearby which wasn't a problem. We didn't actually use the cars throughout our stay as Braithwaite is ideally located for starting several walks in the area.

We are looking forward to returning to the area in the future and would be more than happy to choose the Barn House again.

barn House, Braithwaite

Review Submitted: October 12, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010
The property is well equipped, beautifully kept and was lovely and clean. The situation is excellent for exploring the northern part of the Lake district. There are good restaurants in Braithwaite, but the kitchen is well equipped so cooking at home was enjoyable too.
Jenny the owner was very helpful but we perhaps could have done with more communication beforehand. Views from the front bedroom are lovely but rest of house overlooks street etc. The outside space (patio) was not very private so we didn't use it, but it was no problem finding lovely places to enjoy the views within minutes of the house. I'd definitely recommend and we may well return next tiem we're in the area.
