THE GREAT DUNE OF PYLA:
it is possible to visit the highest dune in Europe, the Great Dune of Pyla (or Pilat). This dune reaches a height of 107m. At this summit, the view is spectacular with the ocean coast, the inlet of the Bay, the large pine forest and, when the sky is very clear, the Pyrenees Range.
This Great Dune is constituted of fine sand which the siliceous grains have about the same size. Since about ten years, this area is also became a point of start to the lover of delta planes.
The Great Dune of Pyla is located on the “La Teste de Buch” district (Gironde) and it is a national listed landscape. (15 MINUTES FROM THE HOUSE BY CAR)
Golf:
ARCACHON GOLF COURSE (1 MINUTE BY CAR)

In a region of British tradition, architects Blandford and Pierre Hirigoyen laid out a subdued golf course, which embraces but never disrupts the hilly terrain on the front nine and the flatter holes around the back. The broken relief means that the second shot to a number of elevated greens is not leaving the driver in the bag.
Arcachon Golf Course is a short one , where precision is more often better rewarded then length off the tee.
With the lower section of the golf course now fitted with a drainage system, Arcachon is playable all year.

GUJAN MESTRAS (15 MINUTES BY CAR)
Les Lacs - A short distance from the huge dunes at Pyla, this tough course has been carved out of the Landes pine forest. There are also plenty of water hazards and with the towering pines, island greens, and dazzling white sand of the bunkers, it's no wonder this has been likened to course typical to Florida, but in south west France. 18 holes. Par 72. 6,808 yards.
Les Pins - This easy walking 9 hole course is ideal for beginners or perfect for those looking for a bit of short game practice. 9 holes. Par 36. 3,159 yards. Woodland.
