The Old Station Yard nestles in it's own grounds in a quiet corner of Lincolnshire alongside the historic Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

It comprises the original old Station Master's House and 3 bespoke reproduction Railway Carriages.

The Station Master's House sleeps 8 and is set in its own enclosed garden on the corner of The Yard.

Our superb Railway Carriages are designed for 2 + 2 and are arranged in the landscaped gardens.

The Old Station Yard has been lovingly designed, with local limestone boulders and granite chippings accentuating the greenery and conifers.

The original Weighmaster's Office has been sympathetically converted into a small ice creams and drinks shop from which we also hire our range of regular and fun cycles.

A barbecue hut has been built for guests' use complete with Bushbecke BBQ, chairs and tables.

You can also choose to hire our Bouncy Castle for the children.

An ideal location halfway betwixt the beach and the Wolds, stunning views abound.

The Station Master's House is exactly as the name would suggest and steeped in the character and history befitting of such title. The unique layout with additions and extensions over the years make it deceptively spacious. It sleeps up to 8 in comfort and possibly 10 with a little imagination. A most unusual accommodation rarely available. 2 lounges, 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms create a fabulous amount of space for a family get together or friendly gathering. A real log fire in one lounge and a dining area with sliding glass doors to the patio in the other, all the pots, pans and utensils you could wish for in the kitchen and central heating throughout make this a real home from home.

There are numerous excellent golf courses at Laceby, Kenwick Park, Louth, Woodhall Spa, Woodthorpe Hall, North Shore, Sandilands and Cleethorpes. Convenient for Cadwell Park weekend motor racing, classic car or motor cycling enthusiasts.

Summer holiday and trains

We spend our summerholiday in the stationmastershouse family with 3 young kids. The house was comfortable, clean and spacious, the fully enclosed garden was perfect for the children. From the kitchen window we had a perfect view at the train station and in one weekend the trains were running. Our kids loved it.
The fireplace in the living room is very nice and there was enough wood supplied by the owner.
The only things missing were a dishwasher in the kitchen and the internet reception wifi (did not work the signal was to weak). That why we didn't rate the experience as excellent.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities

Great for families!

Stayed here with our son, daughter-in-law, & grandsons (3 & 1) for a weekend in early June. Spacious and well equipped house in a beautiful unspoilt part of Lincolshire. Janine helpful and welcoming with everything we needed to know. Outstanding feature - the railway next door! Although it wasn't running when we were there we could still wander along the platform and talk to the men restoring the old steam engines, who were more than happy to show us round and tell us about them. Charlie (3) was in heaven as he identified Thomas, Gordon & Rusty!

very comfortable

Our 3 night stay 6 adults and 2 children was very enjoyable, plenty of room for everyone, everything you need was supplied and the log fire was a real bonus with plenty of logs supplied. Unfortunately the trains were not operating on our break, but the guys working on the trains were brilliant with the 3yr old and showed him round the trains. W e enjoyed seeing the seals which were not far away and Cleethorpes is worth a visit. We would have liked to have stayed longer,Janine was super to deal with and we have no difficulty in recommending this property,

Unique

A deceptively large house, it is a full 8 sleeper - you have enough space to spread out and stow all your baggage for the longest holiday, whilst at the same time there is more than enough room in each of the two main reception rooms for 8 adults to eat at one table, gather and generally share a comfortable time.

The standard of the decor is high. It is modern, clean and clutter free. I went there with 7 other adults for a weekend, but I suspect that families with Children will appreciate the fact that there's nothing there that looks like a likely candidate for breakage!

The working Steam Railway provides what is probably a virtually unique back drop and view from the kitchen window. I can agree with other reviewers that the Steam Engines passing by are interesting with out being in the least bit disturbing.

We used the adjacent BBQ pavilion, and this was a great way to spend an afternoon in what was a great sunny July for England. A real bonus feature. Graham was very flexible in his approach which was appreciated. Thanks Graham.

Originally looking for an economic place to put up 8 adults, we got much more than we were expecting at a good price.

Any person or group looking for a base of operations in rural Lincolnshire will be very happy in choosing this unique house.

fabulous!

We stayed at this property with another family and were absolutely delighted by the standard of the accomodation. We had everything we could possibly need. The amount of space meant that four adults and four children were able to enjoy the holiday without constantly tripping over each other and the steam trains going past the kitchen widow made it a very unique experience. We are planning a return trip!
