3 bedroom villa sleeps up to 7 central Puerto del Carmen

Situated in a quiet, desirable, central, residential area, but within easy walking distance of the sea front, beach, bars, clubs, restaurants, casino and shops. The villa was built in 1985, and so benefits from older architecture and charm whilst benefitting from modern facilities. It was completely refurbished in early 2006. Puerto del Carmen is the main tourist resort in Lanzarote with miles of beaches, bars, restaurants and shops. It is situated 10 minutes drive from Arecife Airport, and is central to the island.

Lanzarote is unique in the Canary Islands in that it is the Eco friendly example of tourism development and is a designated UNESCO Reserve of the Biosphere. The island is committed to the preservation of nature and to practise a model of tourism development, without negative effects on the surroundings. None of the houses, apartments or villas are over 2 storeys high.

Lanzarote is the nearest island to the African coast and benefits from an all year round warmer climate than the other canary islands. Its many beaches are sandy unlike some of the islands, but its unique volcanic interior makes for an extremely interesting experience. There are many places to visit and many have a theme which was developed by the renowned artist Cesar Manrique, his work and art can be seen throughout the island.

Lanzarote has many attractions and activities to be enjoyed; walking, sight seeing; cycling; surfing; wind surfing; diving and snorkelling; fishing etc.

The villa is an upside down house – the bedrooms are downstairs and therefore stay cooler. There is 1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms and this floor also includes a bathroom with bath/shower. On the First floor is another bathroom with shower, as well as the lounge and dining area, kitchen, utility room with washing machine, and a small rear terrace for drying washing.

The Lounge has comfortable luxury sofas, TV and DVD player, and CD/Radio stereo. The lounge has patio doors which open out onto the covered balcony which has magnificent panoramic views across the sea to Fuertoventura, and to one side the bay sweeps round to a mountain range. The balcony is equipped with table and chairs, and with its sea views, makes for the perfect setting for drinks in the evening, prior to going out for a meal at one of the many restaurants. The adjacent dining area has a table and seating for 6 persons.

The Kitchen has electric oven cooker, halogen hob, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, large fridge freezer etc.

The ground floor also has a patio area by the pool with table and chairs. A barbeque is supplied ready for guests use, and there are cushioned sun loungers for use by the pool. The villa is in an established residential area so there are proper roads, pavements, Bus services etc. and Taxis are very reliable and cheap.

A five minute stroll down the gentle hillside takes you to the main seafront area with a multitude of shops, bars, clubs & casino, restaurants, promenade and beach area. Alternatively the Old Harbour area is a 2-3 minute taxi ride, where you can find a selection of fine restaurants, trips from the Harbour and local entertainment, and where the locals play boules most evenings. The new marina of Puerto Calero is a 5 minute ride away, where there is again a selection of fine restaurants set amongst the luxury yachts and marina setting.

Perfection!

We stayed at Villa Therese for one week 24/09/11-01/10/11. The weather was beautiful - 35+ everyday. I stayed with my parent in laws, husband and two children aged 3 and 9. The villa is perfectly located just a short 5 minute walk down hill to the beach front where there are lots and lots of fab restaurants to eat. Literally only a 2 minute walk from two supermarkets from the villa too. The villa was clean and the pool and pool area was beautiful. Everything you could possibly need was at the villa. The two bathrooms were large and there was always lots of hot water. Everything was in good working order, kettle, cooker, grill, toaster, microwave, washer, dishwasher - i could go on and on. We will definitely be staying again!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Lovely villa in terrific location

My family and I have just returned from a week in Villa Therese in Puerto Del Carmen.

The villa is exactly as it looks in the pictures and is in excellent decorative order. The villas location is excellent - literally a 5 minute walk down the hill to the beach, bars, shops and all the local attractions. The kitchen was fully equipped which was great for us as we had a 3 year old with us so it meant I could cook him his meals in the villa. The swimming pool was a good size and was cleaned while we were there. The villa is in a quiet residential street so was very peaceful at night.

My family and I would definitely like to return there in the future and would recommend it to everyone. The owner was very polite and helpful and provided us with maps of the area and restaurant recommendations.

We spent a few nights in the Irish Viking Bar which had a nice family atmosphere and served nice food. Another restaurant I would recommend is Valentinas which is an Italian restaurant in the old town. A taxi from the villa to the old town was only 3 Euros so well worth the trip!
