Lovely house, wonderful location

Myself, partner and two year old stayed in Porch house for a week. The house was extremely well equipped (right from digital radios to binoculars to the ice cream scoop!), clean, a good size for the number of bedrooms and very homely throughout. Lots of personal touches such as a huge library of books, lots of games, cuddly toys for the little ones and a birdfeeder outside every window. No internet for people who have unfortunately have to work like myself, but I'm sure most people would consider this an excellent excuse to escape from their work. What makes this is real gem, though, is the location - right in the middle of a pine forest with only one or two houses around it. Very peaceful and you feel like you have the forest to yourself. Lots of little walks around the house so you can nip out for an hour if you get lumbered with the Scottish showers. Because it's immediately next to several nature reserves, we regularly found ourselves visited by roe deer and red squirrels - our little one was delighted. Despite the remote(ish) location, it's only a short drive to Kingussie which should meet most of your needs and if not, Aviemore is only just a little further up the road. Lots of things to do - would recommend the Highland Wildlife Park, theFrank Bruce Sculpture trail, the Potting Shed tearoom, Pam's cafe and Silverford Pub/Restaurant. Excellent all round. Owner was also very helpful. Will definitely return again.

Owner's Response: Hi Mark and Lynn
Thank you so much for the glowing review, when I cannot be at the cottage myself it is great that others get to enjoy this special place.
Look forward to welcoming you back.
