An idyllic, luxurious and romantic holiday cottage in Whitby. No animals allowed and non-smoking for your comfort. Awd Tuts Grade 2 listed cottage is a delightfully furnished, modern, fully equipped Self Catering Holiday Cottage in the heart of Whitbys cobbled streets. All electricity, gas, heating and bedding included in the price.

The cottage is perfectly situated in an area with all amenities including shops, bars, tea-rooms, restaurants etc. This is the most sought after location in Whitby being in the very heart of the historic 'old town'.

There is even a small beach only 20 metres from the cottage. On windy stormy nights you can listen to the waves lapping at the harbour wall giving you that 'in the centre of things' feeling and a sense of closeness to the sea.

Awd Tuts Cottage - a Grade 2 listed building - 370 years old

Awd Tuts Cottage, was built in 1640 when Charles the 1st sat on the throne of England.

Charles who was later executed by beheading never even had the chance to stay in our cosy cottage - pity!

On the 30 January 1648, Charles was taken to a scaffold built outside Whitehall Palace. Troopers on horseback

kept the crowds some distance from the scaffold, and it is unlikely that many people heard the speech that he

made just before his head was cut off with one swing of the axe.

Awd Tuts Cottage however, whilst being from the same historic era now offers old

world charm by the harbourside, in the cobbled centre of old Whitby town.

Considerably refurbished, this cottage has been graded ETC 4 stars for supreme quality. The cottage dates back to the year 1640 and sleeps 4 people comfortably, plus one infant. The Lounge is fully equipped with Sky freeview TV, DVD and video. The cottage is extremely stylish throughout, with exquisite decoration and furnishings. Cleanliness is of the highest standards and personal touches abound.

The cottage offers luxury self-catering accommodation in Whitby at an affordable price. Historic, romantic Awd Tuts Cottage, almost 400 years old, and offers old world charm on Whitby harbourside. This holiday cottage is ideally placed in the very centre of Whitby 'Old Town'. For the comfort of all our guests and to maintain the highest of standards, we are strictly non-smoking and we do not allow pets - sorry.

The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with all the comforts of home. Right in the centre of the old town

Loved the place. We went for a girls getaway from the men, few days away and this cottage was perfect for our little break. Its right in the centre of the old town and once the car is parked up you're in the middle of everything.

One thing that made us all pick this cottage is that smoking and pets are not allowed. We were not disappointed, the cottage was fresh, clean and has the most amazing comfortable beds. We ate well, slep well and will definately come back again.

Lovely location. Ideal for a short break, with children wanting to be increasingly independent, shops and beach close by .
The cottage was immaculate, warm, with lovely comfy beds.

A wonderful stay at Awd Tut's Cottage!!!!

I Spent a week with my 3 girls at a wonderful cosy cottage.The cottage has a fantastic history surrounding it and we found reading about the cottage even more enjoyable! Also the cottage is in a fantastic location - close to restaurants, a beach and plenty of shops.
We were made to feel totally welcome as the cottage was clean, and milk, tea and coffee were provided after a long journey as was the welcoming phone call making sure we had arrived safe and well.
Hopefully we can come again to this lovely cottage!
Would recommend to everyone!
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

A review of this beautiful old Whitby cottage

What a great place. Perfectly located right in the centre of everything. It was clean, warm, well equipped and full of character. What more does anyone need. A 10 out of 10 rating from us and if we come back this way we'll definately stay in Awd Tuts cottage.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: This is eactly the type of review we hope to keep getting from our guests. We do go out of our way to make sure things are perfect for everyone who stays at either of our cottages and we feel the lengths we go to are appreciated.

These particular guests came on one of our 'free nights extra' breaks which we do from November to February. They are good value, and to be fair, it is nice to get something for nothing isn't it?
