Enjoy a holiday in our beautiful converted barn, finished to a luxury standard with a new heated 11 x7m illuminated pool, set in beautiful rural countryside, yet close to all amenities. 'Fauvette' can be rented with sister gite 'Souris' via an internal inter-connecting door for larger groups, making it ideal for larger parties up to 14 in all. Also ideal for Christmas, winter breaks, Easter holidays, house viewing trips etc. Nearest airport is Angoulême (30 mins away).

Angoulême (20 mins) is a 'must' to visit with its abundance of restaurants for lunch and evening meals, boutiques, shops, museums, history and culture. Jet skiing and Karting for the more adventurous. Golf, leisure lake, local vineyards for private tastings. Angoulême is the home of 'Comic Strip', which holds an annual festival, and the 'Classic Car Festival'. 'Plan D'Eau' is a 40 hectare leisure lake on the outskirts of Angoulême (20 mins) which has facilities for tennis, swimming, fishing, boating, sailing and wind-surfing. A café provides refreshments, or take your own picnic. Brantome (45 mins) is another place for your list, with conoeing/river cruises on the Dronne, riverside cafes/restaurants for refreshments, shops and boutiques. Cognac with famous brands such as Courvoisier, Hine,Hennessey. Also designer built 72 par golf course and 22 tennis courts to take your pick, river cruises on the Charente, or pop into our local cognac producer just 5 minutes down the road.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Saturday changeover. To reserve a property, clients should complete and sign the Booking Form and return it with payment of the initial non-refundable deposit (20% of the total rent due). Balance, plus a refundable Damage Deposit of €200 is due not less than 6 weeks before th start of the rental period. The rental period shall commence at 5 p.m. on the first day and finish at 10 a.m. on the last day. The maximum number to reside in the property must not exceed those stated on the booking form. There is a 30€ supplement for the supply of logs for autumn, winter, spring lets.

Spacious accomodation, with an open plan ground floor offering a separate bathroom with shower, large lounge and fully equiped French-style kitchen with full range of utensils, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge / freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave. Impressive dining area opened up through to exposed roof beams. Separate utility room with washing machine, iron, ironing board, airer etc. Log burning stove for autumn/winter/spring lets. Broadband (WIFI), Satellite HD TV/Radio, also HD DVD Player and expanding DVD library. Books and games are also provided. First floor, 3 large double bedrooms, one with double bed, two with twin beds. There are two foldings beds if required, sleeping up to 8 in total. A second bathroom with shower and toilet. All rooms lead from the mezzanine. Private patio area with garden furniture, BBQ, parasol and with views over the beautiful undulating countryside and heated pool.
