Soleil is our dream and we have endeavoured to retain the charm and character of this old wine making barn. The original beams throughout lend to the history and charm of Soleil. The huge lounge/dining room is beautifully furnished and has TV and videos, hi-fi and cd’s, plus books and games for all ages. The semi-circular kitchen is fully fitted with all modern conveniences and we have retained the original wine press and stone flagged floor where one can see the footprint depressions of the wine press operators. All the bedrooms are very comfortable, the family room having a double bed and bunk beds. Two of the bedrooms are en-suite and a third bathroom is next to the third bedroom. French doors lead from the foyer (where there is a downstairs toilet) to your own private patio area complete with garden furniture and barbeque. Cot, highchair and pushchair are available The heated swimming pool is positioned in the top garden which soaks up the sun from morning to evening.

The region offers so many varied and beautiful places to visit that you will want to return time and time again. You can see everything from a rose garden (Les Chemins de la Rose) at Doue La Fontaine, to a Tank Museum at Saumur. Futurscope at Poitiers is a theme park packed with thrills and despite being an ideal day out for the children, it has plenty to entertain the 'big kid' in anyone with adventures for all ages. The night shows are fantastic!! The Loire is world famous for its beautiful Chateaux, very many of which are open to the public and should not be missed. The historic towns of Amboise, Blois, Saumur and Beaugency are jewels in the Loire's crown and therefore worth visiting. Saumur, which is only a 15 minute drive from the gite is a beautiful town, bordering the Loire river where there are many pretty walks to amble along. A visit to the Chateaux is a must, there is an optional 90 minute guided tour which covers the porcelain and equestrian exhibits.

  • To book please complete our booking form and return this together with the refundable security deposit of £100.00 plus 20% of the total rental. The final payment is due 8 weeks prior to your holiday commencement date.

    We offer a 10% discount on the second and subsequent weeks booked.

    Soleil is strictly no smoking and no pets. Electric central heating is payble localy. We provide all cleaning products including toilet products and washing up liquid. Arrivals are after 4pm and departures by 10am. Welcome packs are avaiable on request.

Soleil, is a 'home from home' & we hope that we have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable & memorable as possible. Guests can enjoy an evening meal cooked by ourselves, accompanied by a local wine. Poolside snacks are available on certain days and we are on-site on help with deciding on places to visit etc The semi-circular kitchen is fully fitted with all modern conveniences and we have retained the original wine press and stone flagged floor where one can see the footprint depressions of the wine press operators. All the bedrooms are very comfortable, the family room having a double bed and bunk beds. Two of the bedrooms are en-suite and a third bathroom is next to the third bedroom. French doors lead from the foyer (where there is a downstairs toilet) to your own private patio area complete with garden furniture and barbeque. Cot, highchair, baby bath and baby bowls etc and pushchair are available. These must be resevered at time of booking.

A baby alarm is available for a nominal charge. The swimming pool is positioned in the top garden which soaks up the sun from morning to evening. (The pool is open mid May to mid September) There are sun loungers, table & Chairs and also a children's unsupervised play area with swings, toddlers slide, climbing rope plus many trikes and other outside children's toys. Why not try the fruit from our apple, pear, plum and apricot trees or the strawberries and raspberries. We are just a few minutes from Doue la Fontaine with its bustling Monday farmer's market, shops, bars and resturants. The supermarket is just 4 minutes away. We have adult cycles and helmets for hire, though do advise guest to bring their own helmets to ensure a perfect fit.

Absolutely Brilliant a real home from home

Absolutely Brilliant accommodation, a real home from home, we have visited France on many occasions but never found such high class accommodation before.
Jon and Sue were perfect hosts, there when you needed them but not intrusive. The cottage had everything that we needed, from the supply of wine from Jon’s cellar to the baby monitor and lots lots more.
We visited many of the Loire Chateaux, and again our hosts assisted us in which ones to visit and what to expect.
The pool area was perfect, we could relax without the worry that that our children could fall in the pool. Have already booked to come back, but this time in December/ January

Christmas in Soleil

My family and I spent Christmas in Soleil some years ago, and it was a wonderful family holiday away from it all. The accomodation is 1st class, as was the welcome. Jon and Sue are perfect hosts - they will stop and chat, are always there if you need something, but respect the privacy of the guests, and won't come hassling!! The cottage was very clean and well-presented. We were on site during 'change-over', and saw how thoroughly the owners attend to cleanliness and detail.
The location is super too. Thoroughly recommended.

A truely marvelous self catering cottage

This must be the best self catering property we have found in the whole of France.
Everything that we need was there, truely a real Home from Home.
We have already booked next years holiday in SOLEIL.
The evening meals were superb, the inforation in the accommodation really informative and the owners were on habd to offer advice and assistance.
