Cottage & Local Area:
The property stands in over one acre of fenced garden. There are several fruit trees, walnut and a sweet chestnut to provide welcome shade in the summer months. If holidaying in the autumn, you are welcome to help yourselves to any windfall. There is parking for two cars on a drive at the front. The rear of the cottage affords pleasant views over the garden and countryside beyond. A gravel patio at the rear is equipped with a table and seating for six for meals and barbecues. A charcoal barbecue and garden furniture are provided.
The area is perfect for exploring on foot or cycling, with a designated cycle route passing through the hamlet and countryside walks from the doorstep. The medieval town of Josselin with its famous chateau, 17th Century buildings, bars and restaurants is an easy 10 minute drive. Brittany’s largest inland lake is located just outside Josselin, with swimming and water sport facilities.
Beaches & Coast:
There is a large choice of sandy beaches, all within easy driving distance, where you can enjoy swimming, sand yachting, waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkelling, kitesurfing, sailing or body surfing.
One of the closest beaches is at Conleau, Vannes, where a retaining wall ensures the tide is always in! (28 miles/44 mins). A nearby sandy beach that has been recommended for children is at Port Louis (46 miles/48 mins). Other popular beach locations include Carnac, Larmor Plage, La Trinite Sur Mer and St Pierre-Quiberon, and all these beaches are recommended for children.
La Grande Plage Canac was recently recommended as one of the best 20 beaches in France (France magazine May 2006). Children will love the clean soft yellow sand and the beach is looked after well. There is a nice beachside promenade to walk along, and plenty of places to eat and drink.
The beaches are invariably clean and unspoilt.
