We have held our prices for 2010. Highly commended by Brittany Ferries, and only 40 minutes from Cherbourg our gite is a beautiful period property in peaceful countryside, only a few minutes from safe, sandy beaches which are never overcrowded. Only half an hour from the Normandy landing beaches and many WW2 sites. Only 45 minutes from the beautiful old city af Bayeux and the tapestry. Attached to the main house, with large, secluded garden for relaxing with garden furniture and barbecue provided. We are located in a small, unspoilt hamlet and a short drive to the boulangerie for your delicious breakfast croissants. Take a break back in time. We can obtain discount with Brittany Ferries.

Apart from the peace and relaxation you might want to get out and about. Walking or cycling in the local forest , the country lanes or the old railway routes. If you are a twitcher, start in the garden then the forest, the nearby marshes, and the coast. Heron, buzzards, hawks, owls as well as garden birds. Dippers and other marsh and sea birds can be seen in the local nature reserves. History abounds with chateaux and of course the Bayeux tapestry which is a must for all visitors. More modern history is provided by the landing beaches, an hour or so away with Omaha, Utah, Sword, Pegasus bridge, and the Mulberry harbour at Arromanche, and many more. Wind-surfing, sea fishing, river fishing, golf, horse riding, and art courses are all available locally. Quiet, safe sandy beaches are nearby and rugged, rocky coasts are a short drive away for those photographs or paintings. A day trip to Mont St Michel is well worth it, to see the sun glint on the steeple is stunning.

  • Changeover day is Saturday in high season. At other times short breaks available for 1/6th weekly rate per day, minimum of 3 nights.

    The cottage will be clean and ready at 4.00 pm. Check out time is 11.00 am.

    Being attached to the main house means we are on hand to help you enjoy your stay, but you will be under your own steam if you want to be. Anything you need and we will be there to be asked.

    We ask for a 25% deposit with booking and settlement a calendar month before arrival.

    Bed linen is provided. Beach towels available for hire.

    We can enable you to get discounts from Brittany Ferries.

At the end of a 200 year old longere, this barn conversion gives modern comfort and facilities with tradition and character inside and out. Ideally situated for major sightseeing trips or a real chill-out, or a combination of both. The kitchen is galley style to give sensible preparation area, a full cooker, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The lounge area has a comfortable settee and 2 easy chairs with TV receiving 4 UK channels and DVD player. Outside, the garden is very large with a pond for peaceful, tranquil contemplation and relaxation. A sanctuary from stress and away from traffic. The pond is safely fenced to protect our younger visitors. We provide a starter pack so that you can settle in and enjoy a relaxing cupper, or glass of wine before having to worry about shopping.
