The caves are just 300m from the cottage which is situated next to Frank's restaurant and opposite The White Hart, a quiet village pub popular with walkers and cavers. Cheddar lies in the heart of the Mendips, an area renowned for walking and beautiful scenery. The nearest beach is a 25 minute drive. Super accommodation, perfect spot

WendyAlison Hampshire, UK
Review Submitted: March 2, 2010 Date of Stay: March 2009
We stayed at The Bays in late February for a weekend and it was just perfect - 6 adults and 3 children and we all had a ball. Its perfect to doing the sights/walks of cheddar without having to get in the car as everything is walkable - particularly all the lovely restaurants/pubs/cafes etc. Accommodation is spotlessly clean, well appointed and beds all comfy. Great having two TV rooms so that everyone from age 2 to 76 was happy. We did the Cheddar bus tour with the cave which was OK - but probably only worth doing the cave as the bus wasn't that good. Also, if you walk up the lane behind the new Indian restaurant you come out on the top of Jacobs ladder with stunning views as and access to the tower without having to pay. We had fantastic weather (amazing for this year considering what its been like) so it all worked a treat.

Highly recommend it. Cheese good too of course!!
