A typical French village house in an important and well known wine growing area. The village is situated equidistant from the warm waters of the Mediterannean sea at Narbonne plage, and the snow capped Pyrrénean mountains where excellent skiing can be enjoyed. Both being approximately 1 hour away by car. The medieval citíe of Carcassonne, (Try a Google search) notorious for its breathtaking fairy tale castle, now a world heritage site, is 16 km's away.The historic town of Limoux, famed for it's white sparkling wine 'Blanquette de Limoux' is 4 km's. This part of France is also renowned for other quality wines of the Corbiere and Minervoise. For a really good local wine try the Reds and Rosés of the Malepere, available at local supermarkets or at the vinyards, only a couple of Kilometres away. If you enjoy history, particularly the Templars and Cathares then this area is at the heart of it all.

Limoux is an historic, partially walled town, where Blanquette de Limoux is produced. Blanqette is a sparkling wine produced mainly from the chardonnay grape, and is made in the methode champagnoise. For the ladies, the town or 'Ville' is of medium size with a good range of shops, including food shops, clothing and shoes, luxury household goods, and more including several Banks. There are 2 large super markets conveianltly situated at the edge of town, which you must pass on your way into the town centre The town centre, Place de le Republique is a square, where there are several Bars and restaurants with very reasonably priced menus ( try the local Duck) There is even a Chinese restuarant nearby. There is also a vegetarian restaurant. Being close to The Aude river, there are watersports, canoeing and white water rafting facilities in the vicinity.

  • Dates enquired for, will be held for seven days and will be confirmed once a deposit of £100 has been received. The balance for your holiday is due eight weeks prior to the date of arrival and at that time a breakage deposit of £150 which will be refunded to you within 1 week of departure.

    Cancellation & refunds: Should it be necessary for you to cancel your holiday then the following refund will apply:Up to 8 weeks of arrival date -100% will be refunded + breakage deposit 4-8 weeks of arrival date - 50% will be refunded + breakage deposit 2-4 weeks of arrival date - 25% will be refunded + breakage deposit Less than 2 weeks - no refund only breakage deposit.


    The house is let from 4pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by l0am on the date of departure. This is to ensure that the house is fully cleaned and allow us to prepare for each new arrival. The house rental includes electricity, lighting, heating and water.

The property is typical of the village, with garden. The garden is mostly laid to a terrace with quality teak wood dining suite. The house, about 200 years old is on the edge of the quiet village of Cépie. With accomodation on three floors. The Kitchen equipped with an oven, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, and a washing machine is on the ground floor. A seperate sitting room with a log burning fire is also on the ground floor. On the first floor are two double and one single bedrooms together with seperate shower room and bathroom both with WC. On the second floor is a second sitting room, with french windows overlooking stunning views of the Aude valley and the Black Mountains. Internet Connection. Sorry, but there is no connection in the house. However The Grand Cafe on the Place de la Republique in Limoux has!!. This requires a RG45 ethernet cable, which is normally available on the premises. You just have to ask for the password.

The Grand cafe does not seem to have a regular closing time, but is open until very late every evening. There is also a wireless connection at the Macdonalds burger outlet situated just off the second roundabout on the way to Limoux. Open every day until 11.00 pm. Both of these connections are totally free of charge.
