Accommodations are four star, and I believe you'll be 100% pleased. Francesca is the most hospitable person and will blend over backwards to make your Italian vacation memorable..she is a master in the kitchen and will serve you the best food you have ever had. She also offers cooking lessons if you are interested in taking some of her flavours home to your kitchen. WI-FI Internet. Several restaurant nearby, typical Tuscan food such as excellent pizzeria and fish restaurants. Nearby villages offer typical festivals such as wine festival, medieval typical weekends, 'sagre toscane' with all kinds of food and attractions. Winding up to a tiny Tuscan village, a small track veers off and lead you to this peaceful and comfortable 500 years old country villa, exposed stone thick walls, terracotta floors, wooden beamed ceilings and traditional furniture are all features of the three accommodations, comfortable and all interlink - useful for larger groups. All apartments are equipped of fireplace, sofas, TV sat, and kitchen. The property enjoys both morning and evening sun...and a lovely view on the below Montecatini, olive groves and wooded hills. The spacious garden overlooks the scenic swimming pool which is set in front of the house. Lunch and dinner are served in the front patio..

Perfect piece of Tuscan paradise

Our family of 6 had the pleasure of staying at La Fagianaia over the Christmas holidays. The accommodations were clean, well-maintained, very well decorated and had much character. High wood-beamed ceilings, stone walls, comfortable beds, beautiful fireplace - it was all above our expectations. Even more beautiful than the views and accommodations was the hospitality of Francesca - our hostess. She went to great lengths to provide us with the best customer service that we have had in a while. From decorating the villa with Christmas ornaments and a tree for our girls; to welcoming us with local wine; to allowing us to watch her cook in her own kitchen and leaving with some treasured Tuscan recipes; and lastly (but certainly not least) to enjoying an unforgettable home-cooked meal prepared by Francesca herself; she was truly beyond compare.

The property itself is within a 45 minute drive of Pisa, Florence and other lovely smaller towns - especially Lucca. A car is a necessity and the last kilometer up to La Fagianaia can be a little nerve-racking if you are scared of heights.

All in all, a perfect vacation spot to really experience the Tuscan countryside and hospitality. I would recommend this property to all of my friends.

A perfect week

Although slightly dampened by a full week of rain (apparently very unseasonal!), our week at Villa La Fagianaia was wonderful. Having attempted the tiny road leading to the villa once in the dark, we spent most evenings eating delicious Tuscan food on our own private covered patio fending off two adorable kittens. The location of the villa is perfect for exploring Tuscany. A train trip to Florence is recommended. And there are plenty of fabulous places to drive to. Franscesca is a great host - ask for recommendations of where to go and where to eat. We stayed in Cozzile which is well equipped and very beautiful. We had a lovely relaxing week and didn't want to leave.
