The 3 storey, fully furnished 3 bedroom house, can accommodate up to 6 people. Located in the picturesque old Spanish town of Otos. You will find the locals are friendly and helpful. There are also a few English owners living in the town. Otos is one of the prettiest village to be found in Spain. It also still uses the antiquated system of a village tannoy system just one of the lovely idiosyncrasies of the old town. Visit the Marquess of Otos' Palace, the most important civil building of the town. It was built in the 18th century and has recently been restored.
Take the opportunity to visit some beautiful nature spots. Just a 10 minute drive away there is a huge fresh water lake near Beniarres. This is popular destination for locals who regularly fish there.
Also nearby is Castelo Rugat, the next town which is approx 5 min drive, here one can find many types of shops, weekly street market, schools, doctors, banks, bars, restaurants, plus a very popular (Spanish owned) Irish theme bar with restaurant etc.
Otos itself hosts three restaurant/bars. The villagers like to eat out in the restaurants and paella can be specially prepared at one of the restaurants (order day before), you won't be disappointed. For shopping, there is a Saturday market in the village square. Other amenities include a hairdressers, pharmacy, tobacconist, bakery, butcher, shops available along with daily visits to the village from a fish monger, frozen food specialist etc. A daily bus service is available on request. For those who may want the night life element or beautiful beaches, Gandia is just a 20 minute drive. You can also catch a train from Albaida or Gandia to Valencia and visit Europe's largest aqua park or appreciate the beautiful architecture of the city
If you want to see the real Spain and have an authentic Spanish experience and witness a fading tradition of the old way of life, then Otos is a place you must visit!
Albaida has a market on Tuesdays. You will find on sale - clothes, shoes and toiletries.
Gandia's market day is on Saturday.
