You will find The Doocot ideal for holiday accomodation in the East Neuk of Fife. If you want a seaside holiday, shore side walks, golf, watersports, healthy eating and a drink in one of the excellent pubs then Cellardyke is the place for you. As you enter the pend at number 10 Dove Street, behind you is a glorious view over the harbour to the May Island. Up a flight of stone steps takes you to the door of The Doocot. Into the fitted dining kitchen and the adjoining utility room you will find all of the appliances needed for cooking, washing & drying. A full sized dining table with six chairs is there for meals with family or friends. Then into the spacious lounge with arm chairs, sofa bed, tv, CD player, coffee table and sideboard. Off the main corridor is the bathroom with toilet, sink and bath with mains pressure shower. A heated towel rail will ensure a warm wrap when you step out of the shower. The bedroom is tastefully set up and can be double or twin.
With a morning view of the May Island you'll wake up to glorious sunrises over the water.
Outside The Doocot is a shared courtyard, with garden furniture; ideal for sitting out enjoying a drink and cooking by barbeque. With easy access to the kitchen drinks can be cool in the fridge while you relax in the afternoon and evening sunshine. The terraced garden is steep but the top enjoys a panoramic view of the Firth of Forth taking in the May Island and the Bass Rock. The steps up the garden are worn with the boots of decades of Cellardykers so be very careful if you venture up. For those who enjoy more vigorous exercise there are two sets of golf clubs and two bicyles available. Although Dove Street is a narrow culdesac you can park there and additional parking, close by at the harbour, is available. When all is considered, The Doocot, part of an early 1800's fishermans terraced row in Dove Street, is a place with a balance of history carefully tuned with modern day living.
You'll love it!!!
