"The Big Blue" is the perfect family beach house, located 45 minutes from the city of East London in the quiet Wild Coast village of Haga Haga. This bright and spacious open plan property overlooks the Indian Ocean where dolphins and whales can be spotted daily during their breeding seasons. Haga Haga's beautiful sandy beach is less than a minute's walk and families with small children can enjoy the warm waters of the lagoon. An enclosed garden with both fixed and Weber barbecues can be enjoyed at the rear of the property. The main house sleeps eight and a self contained flat on the ground floor sleeps a further six persons. (The flat is only available to rent by parties renting the main house who require extended accomodation. Please enquire for details).

Additional information about rental rates

  • Our maid, Pricilla, lives in the adjoining flat and clean's the property on a daily basis. Her english is basic but she has a good understanding if one speaks clearly and slowly. For a small fee, she will undertake any extra chores you may have (such as babysitting and laundry)!

    There is secondary accomodation on the ground floor of the Big Blue which is available and sleeps six. This would only be available to persons renting the main part of the house that required extra accomodation. Please enquire for details.

    Please note that a 20% deposit is required with bookings and is refunded after departure.

    The Big Blue is available after 3pm on your day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.30am on your day of departure.

The Big Blue is a modern, comfortable beach house with three bedrooms, a bathroom, WC, kitchen and open plan dining room, drawing room and entertainment area. There is also a terrace which runs along the front of the property and from where one can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean. The enclosed back garden has a seating area and barbecue and also an outdoor shower handy for when one returns from the beach. The beautiful and quiet Haga Haga beach is less than a minutes walk from the house as is the warm lagoon, perfect for families with smaller children. For a change of scene, another fabulous beach, Pullin Bay, is a ten minute walk along the rocky path at the other end of the village. Fantastic fish for the barbecue can be caught from the rocks right in front of the house.

For the energetic, daily membership is available at Haga Haga Tennis Club which is two doors down from the Big Blue or one can enjoy horse riding along the beach or around Ninky Noo's game reserve which overlooks the village. Books can be borrowed from Haga Haga's well stocked library which is situated under the Little Museum.
