This traditional village house is on 3 storeys in the canal village of Paraza. It has 2 bedrooms sleeping 4/5. It is in a quiet residential area, close to the canal. The roof terrace has wonderful views and is not overlooked.The decoration is to a high standard. The house has internet access.

The village has a bouladrome a park and a tennis court. There are safe sandy beaches within 1 hour drive. Closer to home there are many other opportunities to swim in the local lakes and rivers. The village is on the Canal du Midi and is a ideal centre for exploring this historic and beautiful part of France. Narbonne and Perpignan are close by as is the medieval city of Carcasonne. This a wonderful area for bikes. There are plenty of deserted roads and tracks as well as the towpath beside the Canal. We run a bicycle hire business; www.mellowvelos.com and can offer cycles to clients at discounted rates.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The house is available from 4pm upon your arrival. On departure please vacate by 11am. If your visit is for 2 weeks, cleaning can be available at the end of the first week and linen changed at a cost of 30 euro's.

    On arrival in Paraza, Maria will meet you at the house with your keys. Please call 15/20 minutes beforehand.

    During winter months a charge of 35euros per week will be payable to cover heating.

    New for 2011. Woodburning stove.
  • You can also pay in pound sterling if you prefere. I will send details of ways to pay. exp; Paypal, uk or french bank accounts.



    A security deposit of 100 euros will be taken on your arrival and returned at the end of your stay in full. Any damages will be paid for from this. This will be payed by client in cash ( pound sterling or euros )

The house is on 3 storeys. On the top floor there is comfortable sitting room a dining area and a well equipped kitchen. French doors open onto a large and sunny terrace, ideal for a BBQ or to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sun. On the second floor there are the 2 large bedrooms, the bathroom with twin sinks and an area with a cosy sofa for a quiet read. The ground floor has a utility room with washing machine and storage for bikes.

The house was just as described on the website and had all we needed to cook, relax and enjoy the terrace.
We enjoyed how small the village was and the local restaurant "le cafe du port" was excellent.
Great place if you like to walk and cycle by the canal du midi
We had a most pleasant 2 week stay.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Paraza is a beautiful, quiet village on the canal du midi.The house was everything it purported to be and the owners were very friendly. We hired bikes for a couple of days and the cycling was great.If u hire the house you get a 10% discount.We could only hire for four days but that wasnt a problem off season. We thoroughly recommend this house.It was clean and comfortable and beautifully situated.

Great place to stay

This is our 4th visit here and we still think this is the most relaxed and friendliest holiday rental we've ever stayed in.It's also the best equipped! Forget the times you've stayed in places with no garlic crusher... this has 2!!and anything else you'd ever need on a self catering holiday.
Maria and Phil who own the gite are extremely friendly and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble.

Idyllic

We stayed at Maria's for a whole month and were so delighted...with the property, the small peaceful town, the location on the Canal is charming, the local restaurant is great, and it's easy access to so many places in Languedoc. Maria is a wonderful hostess/landlady and Phil's bike shop had everything we needed. The property is very clean and well equipped. Unless you go everywhere by bike, a car is useful. Highly recommended.

A great place to relax

This is a superb place to spend an active and relaxing holiday. Homely and comfortable with excellent countryside views from a sunny terrace. Good choice of tourist centres within easy reach by car and plenty of delightful walking and cycling in the local area. A variety of good restaurants in the village and nearby. With welcoming and attentive hosts the Pink House is highly recommended for those wishing a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
