Five minute walk to village with wide range of pubs and shops.

In the village there are several pub and restaurants offering a wide range of menus and prices. Boat hire is available , and there is a leisure centre with small swimming pool, jacuzzi and fitness centre. Within 5 minutes walk of the cottage there is a newsagents, butchers, greengrocers, post office and delicatessen. Good shopping in Wroxham, and excellent shopping centres in Norwich, which also has all the usual facilities you would expect in such a fine city. There are many stately homes, gardens and wildlife centres to visit. The North Norfolk coast is about 30 minutes drive away with the seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer, and the wild coastline around Blakeney with its seal watching. There are good sandy beaches about 15 minutes drive. For the children there are many theme parks in the area, and Great Yarmouth is famous for its funfair and Sea Life Centre. For the more active holidaymaker, there is cycle and canoe hire available nearby.

Bittern is situated on a dyke just off the main River Bure, and is therefore a very peaceful and tranquil spot to while away the hours. You can fish undisturbed by the cruisers going by, no need to be constantly lifting your rods. Just chill out and watch the world and wildlife go by. You are likely to have a heron visit you for his breakfast, and may see a kingfisher if you are lucky. Extensively refurbished to a 4 STAR standard in 2004, Bittern is spacious and airy, with a very good standard of furniture and fittings. Open plan lounge and dining room and kitchen. Very sociable for the cook! This makes it a great place for Christmas or New Year. Ground floor- open plan kitchen/living/dining room, one double bedroom, one twin, bathroom with shower and WC,and separate WC. First floor - one double room, one twin, shower room with WC. Travel cot available. All bedrooms have generous wardrobe and drawer space.

Colour TV/video/DVD/CD player We have arranged preferential rates for boat hire with a local boatyard. 80ft frontage onto secluded backwater, free mooring. Two allocated parking bays. Large waterside lawn and patio with barbeque area and exterior lights. Small children must be closely supervised at all times. Electricity, bed linen and towels included in the price. Pets welcome, smoking allowed in verandah. Pubs, restaurants, shops, leisure centre and boat hire all within a 5 minute walk. Welcome pack provided. Short lets/late availability by arrangement - please contact us.
