A Fantastic Week had by all

We rented this Eco Lodge for a week. We had sold our house and had a week before we could move into our new home. Walter and Alison were exceptionally helpful in accomodating our needs and really helped us out in our time of stressful house moving.
The lodge is equipped with everything and more that you could need. The accomodation was very clean, the beds very comfortable and the living accomodation more than big enough for a family of four (plus excess baggage with moving house!).
Our children (8 and 12) had a fantastic time in the gardens, exploring the area, saying hello to the neighbouring horses and playing on the trampoline and swings. It felt like being on holiday - totally away from it all.
I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough. It is central to many ammenities and has great road access links to the surrounding areas, yet still has the feeling of being in the countryside.
Walter and Alison are fantastic hosts and genuinely lovely people.
If you are thinking of visiting the area and need somewhere to stay, look no futher than this lodge. You will not regret booking it.

Will definitely return

What a fantastic find - the lodge is wonderful, fully equipped, full sky package, towels, bed linen, electricity all included, no need to bring anything. Very clean and spacious with luxory bathroom and ensuite. The friendly owners live adjacent to the lodge so are on hand if you want recommendations for local eateries. It is a great location for sightseeing, we visited Newcastle, the Metro Centre, Scarborough and our favourites Whitby and Durham so the North East,North Yorkshire and even the Yorkshire Dales are within easy reach. We were provided with a welcome pack including tea/coffee/milk/fruit and there is a Morrison's supermarket less than 1.5 miles away for supplies (and they do a great breakfast!)
Highly recommended and I will most definitely be back.

Another Fantastic stay at the lodge

We returned to the lodge this year in June having spent a very enjoyable week in August 2010, but this time we extended our stay to 10 days. I cannot recommend this place enough. You have everything you need and are well located to visit lots of attractions but you can completely escape everything as well if that's what you want. The owners cannot help you enough and always give you a warm welcome.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

A great stay over the festive period 2010

My partner and I rented this property for the Christmas period, arriving Xmas Eve 2010 for a week. Despite horrible weather and associated problems, the lodge was cosy, warm and welcoming. The owners went out of their way to make sure it was comfortable and welcoming - even providing a xmas tree.

I really can't praise the owners highly enough for their attention to detail. The lodge was equipped with everything we could possibly want and need, and we held five dinner parties there - all our friends and family were very impressed with the place too. If you're looking for somewhere with the feel of the countryside, yet only minutes from shops, restaurants, pubs and facilities then this is perfect. A real home from home with all of the creature comforts you could possibly need. A great favourite for us was relaxing in the sunken bath and watching TV - so indulgent.

The place is a bit of a tardis - offering plenty of space and is very carefully planned to make the most of the accommodation and the views.

Highly recommended and we will certainly be visiting again.

Week In August

Our first visit to the lodge and we got far more than expected! The lodge is out of this world, fully equipped with everything you need and loads more! The owners could not have been more helpful to us and made us so welcome and at home within their grounds. Kids loved the horses and other wildlife and the trampoline. Full sky package kept everyone happy when the weather was grim and the entertainment system is excellent. The location is excellent as you are about a mile from the A66 which routes you to all of the main areas of interest.
Standard of lodge is extremely high, well maintained and clean.
Highly recommend this lodge for a perfect relaxing getaway for spending some quality time with your loved ones.
Lightwater valley near Ripon, both 14 year old and 4 year old had a fab day. Whitby is well worth a visit, we had a great day, fishing on the beach in our wellies.
