Charming Cottage

Review Submitted: July 12, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
My family plus dogs enjoyed very much our week's stay in Arcady cottage. It is a clean, comfortable, quaint traditional style cottage in a quiet village (has a small swing park) within a few mins walk to Loch Tay shoreside and has a lovely garden and conservatory. There is plenty to do in the area for those who love the great outdoors but also for families, like ourselves with children, who arent walkers.
Would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing break away from reality whilst enjoying the beautiful Scottish countryside.
The owner even phoned to check all was OK and to offer some ideas on things to do which was much appreciated.
We enjoyed a visit to Highland Safaris (dogs welcome too!!) where the kids fed the red deer, canoeing on Loch Tay (we used canoe hire on OPPOSITE side of Loch to watersport centre next to Crannog Centre - very nice there, near the small beach at Kenmore), the Crannog Centre (no dogs), Auchengarroch Wildlife Centre in Comrie, Fortingall Yew Tree (5000 yrs old) and Cluny Gardens (to see Red Squirrels).

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Happy Holiday maker! I am so glad you had a good time.
Never mind the walking, your girls are now dab hands with a canoe! What next!

Perfect Getaway

Review Submitted: June 12, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
Just back from Arcady, this has been my third visit, and we just want to keep going back, it's a fantastic location, the house itself is very clean and well equipped with dishwasher, hot showers anytime of the day, bath, toys to amuse children, books, family games, DVDs, sandpit, BBQ facilities, you name it, they have it, it really is home from home.
The garden is large and well kept and wonderful to sit in and relax with that well deserved glass of wine after a days walking, with the Loch so near too, it's a perfect place to wander down and cool off on a sunny day!

Last time we stayed was in February for a romantic get away without the kids, and with the fab log burner and the woods behind the house, we had long walks, supper in Kenmore, then back to the house to cosy up in front of the fire! - you really can't beat "Arcady", it's the only place to stay in for that wonderful family/romantic break in Kenmore.

The owners couldn't be more helpful too, filling you in with as much info as you need for your break, they gave us some brilliant walks to do to Aberfeldy, challenging for the less fit, but achievable and amazing scenery along the way, would highly recommend you ask them for details and do these walks.
Arcady is for sure a hidden gem in Fearnan! - We'll be back real soon! Thank-you.

Family Getaway

Review Submitted: January 5, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010
My concern was that the cottage would be too small. This was not the case. We were a party of six adults. With 3 large bedrooms, a dining room, sun room, living room with log burner and wide hallway with a great book selection, we immediately felt at home. Our visit was in the winter. The roads were clear of snow and being part of a small village we knew we were safe if anything went wrong but at the same time we felt completely remote. The cottage is placed perfectly if you intend to travel by car to the West Coast, Edinburgh and Loch Ness as well as many other attractions. We saw numerous animals but never managed to catch sight of the elusive Haggis. I trust you will enjoy your stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you. I am glad you had a good break. The haggis is notoriously difficult to spot in the winter especially when there is snow on the ground!

Great base for walking holiday

Review Submitted: August 11, 2010 Date of Stay: July 2010
We spent a great week walking on the various Munro's around Loch Tay. This lovely cottage provided the ideal base to get to them, with many only a 20 minute drive away. The cottage was a 5 minute walk from the loch itself, and the village of fearnan it was based in was really quiet - the garden backs on to a field and you can see wooded hillsides as well. The owners were very helpful in their recommendations of good walks, and the cottage itself was clean and comfortable. 6 of us stayed there, and this was no problem with the 2 living rooms, conservatory and the garden. I would definitely recommend this cottage.
Owner's Response: Hi Gareth, Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review of Arcady. I really appreciate it and am glad you had a great time and managed to bag a few munros! Leeby
