The living area with a log fire opens onto a patio and garden with impressive mountain views. The complex offers a restaurant, Ski Lockers and Sauna . There are many Mehanas nearby and the town centre is an easy stroll away. If you want to partake in the Spa experience there are several within very close walking distance. The new Bansko Mall is also a very short walk away.

Bansko was voted Europe's most improved ski resort in the first Great Skiing and Snowboarding Guide 2006 awards by the Daily Telegraph, and has the best winter-sports facilities in Bulgaria. Bansko's ski runs are kept in pristine condition by the most technically advanced piste equipment in the world, which includes ample snow cannons that keep the pistes open when others in Bulgaria have to close. Bansko has an exclusive 16-kilometre uninterrupted ski run that starts from Todorka Peak at 2600 metres, and ends at the newly built Gondola. Skiers of all abilities are well catered for as Bansko has 70 kilometes of marked ski runs, accessed by the modern Gondola lift. You can also try night skiing, or skating at the new Ice Rink located close to the Gondola. There is also snowboarders’ half-pipe facility and fun-park area as well as biathlon and cross-country trails. ski-schools are available for all ages and abilities . There is also a non-skiing kindergarten.

Bansko is located at the foot of the Pirin National Park. It is a mountain resort with a hot summer and long winter. Snow falls are abundant, providing a constant winter snow cover up to 2 m thick. The region is famous for its cuisine and colourful folklore. The nearest airport is Sofia, Bulgaria’s beautiful capital city which can be reached in just 2 hours by car. The Pirin National Park combines breath-taking views with excellent opportunities for hiking and sightseeing, including an abundance of lakes, waterfalls, caves and historical sights. The town and the nearby villages are known for their healing mineral springs, providing opportunities for rest and relaxation. The town of Bansko attracts visitors with its 120 cultural monuments. It is famous for its fortified and artistically decorated houses and quaint cobbled streets. The Holy Trinity Church, with its 30 m high bell-tower and clock, splendid murals and woodcarvings, is the centre-point of the town.

Every August Bansko hosts an International Jazz Festival, attracting artists and audiences from around the world. There are Museum houses and collections, souvenir shops and around every corner traditional Mehanas ,taverns serving local cuisine and of course Rakia (the local fire water) making this resort a unique holiday experience. Bansko is a beautiful mix of old and new. It is described in the ‘Lonely Planet’ guidebook as “the shiniest jewel in Bulgaria’s tourism crown…a base for top notch skiing and superb hiking in the summer”. Most of the shops and cafes are located along Pirin Street leading to the town centre.

This apartment was everything they said it would be and more. We were met on arrival by Brenda, who explained all we needed to know and were assured that should we need any help we could call her anytime - we didn't need to but she called by mid-week anyway.
Clean, quiet and comfortable the accomodation was ideal. The outstanding benefit being it's location.
Close enough to the gondala station to tumble out of bed and walk, with boots on, and be in the "air" within minutes. There is a Supermarket and choice of three very friendly bars/restaurants within a few paces. But without any noise! 10 minutes walk will get you into the charactfull old town with great local cuisine.
Bansko is an exciting place with a distinct new town feel close to the gondala station yet retains the old town charm at the opposite end.
The ski resort was brilliant with great runs and several cafe areas on the mountainside. It was really enjoyable to end the day skiing down the mountain right into the town via it's unique "ski road." You must not miss this.
