Inland Beaches at Brossac (10Km) and Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne (20Km). Brossac has fishing, canoes and safe swimming with lifeguards at the beach. An excellent restaurant on the banks, a beautiful retreat to have a drink to escape the sun or a romantic evening meal. Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne was voted the prettiest village in France and has a stunning Church carved into the Lime Stone, the village has a lovely selection of restaurants in the centre to spend a long lunch eating and drinking, the French favourite pass time. Chalias a market town (10 Km) with your nearest Intermarche and shops. Enjoy the local market on Mondays with plenty of bargains and local delicacies for you to try. Cognac (50 Km) the home of the famous drink, why not enjoy a tour round one of the distilleries such as Remy Martin, Martell or Hennessy all set on the River Charente.

We spent 2 very relaxing weeks here in August. The house is very spacious and very well equipped - there is everything you need to make this a real home away from home. On arrival the house was very clean and the beds are very comfortable!

There was enough toys and games to keep the children entertained in the evening time and the garden is big enough for them to play safely. The BBQ was very handy and gave me the chance to have a few nights off cooking!The pool is what kept the children happy the most and enabled us to have a stress free holiday. The area is very quiet, but the nearest village is lovely to look around and has a great supermarket and some reasonable eating places. We also enjoyed the street market on the mondays!

When you want to go out - Bordeaux and Cognac are only about an hour away and the local area has some beautiful little villages.

All in all we had one of the most relaxing holidays we have had for years and I would recommend the house to anyone - and have done!

The house and location are beautiful, and very accurately described on your website. There is ample space both inside and out for a large family to relax. From our initial enquiry right through to the end of our stay was completely stress free - directions were excellent, house very well equipped, village and surrounding area very peaceful and relaxed, with a well equipped supermarket and pretty town nearby. We loved the traditional Monday market. We would have no hesitation in recommending your property to our friends and relatives. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Spacious,well equiped,caters for different tastes

Lovely holiday home which is spacious inside and equiped with everything you need to sit, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. New kitchen with everything to hand and easy access to the garden where decking surrounds a swimming pool and a place to eat and bbq makes it easy to relax from day 1. Large lounge which connects nicely with all other rooms via hallway for main bedroom and 2nd bedroom. You certainly have a lot of space both inside and out and entertainment in the form of a sky box and a separate movie player which is cramed with movies to watch in the evenings. There are also lots of places to visit within an hours drive catering for different tastes including relaxation beach/riverside, physical activities and historical places to visit. We can't list everywhere we went but they are on the website and in the book at the property. We would say it caters for all, space for a family with kids or several families with grand parents. It is also ideal for a couple or several couples to go and relax, unwind in the pool, have a bbq and a drink or two.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
