Photos and Description of this Cowes holiday house Available for Cowes Week Sailing Regatta - 30/07-7/08/10

This is a grand old house which has been renovated to a high standard by the owners who live there part of the year. It has many original features including the original parquet flooring downstairs (sorry, no stiletoes please ladies). It has real multi-fuel burning stoves in the kitchen and lounge and masses of living and entertaining space to be enjoyed. There are sea views to the front and the beach is just a short stroll away. The sun rises to the rear of the property so the kitchen is filled with light in the morning and the back garden is a sun trap. The sun sets in front of the house so the front garden is the perfect place for sun-downers! Only available a few weeks each year, please check for availablilty. Sorry, no stag or hen parties please.

The Woodvale Hotel is at the bottom of the road and offers good food and often has live music on in the evenings. There is also the Watersedge Cafe at the beach which serves great food all day. On Woodvale Road you can catch the bus into Cowes (sail bus during cowes week) and beyond. If you are feeling energenic you could walk into Cowes along the front in about 20 min. In the summer there is always something going on on the Isle of Wight. Of course there are sailing regattas, but there is also music and garlic festivals, Walk the Wight, power boat weekends and masses of things to keep the kids happy - whatever the weather. It's a great place to cycle too.

  • The bathroom and en-suite are finnished to a very high standard. The bathroom (inc shower) has a large hand-made mosiac bath, perfect for the largest of guests to have a good soak + lots of hot water. There is also one downstairs toilet.

  • PLUS TRAVEL COT AND JUNIOR BED AVAILABLE. The master is en-suite has a very comfortable 6ft bed, with space to put the junior bed +/or travel cot. The next largest is to the back (top 2/3 of window in back garden pic) views over the garden and trees beyond. This room can be another 6ft double plus 1 single or 3 singles. There is even enough space in there for a travel cor or the junior bed. (this room also has blackout curtains) The 2 smaller bedrooms are interconnecting to the front. The twin (which has a very bright sky window) leads through to a room the owners use as a study with a double futon. This is the room that has the bay window above the front door in the pic and has great sea view. Of the 5 bedrooms one is in the loft with the best sea views of the whole house. Although it is up a proper staircase there is not a great deal of headroom (you can stand up in the middle of the room) - but I would say this room is most suited to the young or agile in the party.

Notes: The kitchen is finnished and equiped to a very high standard and you will find everything you require to cater for large numbers. There are plenty of big pots and pans crockery etc. There are cookbooks for insperation and blenders, foodprocessors etc for when you get going! As well as the kitchen being able to dine 7/8 there is also a banqueting table which can be set up in the halll and can seat 10. Please let us know if you would like that arranged for your stay. We strive to provide the highest standards to make sure your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. We can arrange newspapers and groceries to be delivered (sainsburys and tesco deliver to the door) and we can arrange for a cleaner to come in and also know very reliable babysitters. Please ask if there is anything else you would like.
