Ideal Winter Snow & Summer Sun location with easy access via Geneva airport. You can eat in the comfort of your own well equipped & spacious apartment & save EUROS. Thollon Les Memises has its own unique ski resort. It is fabulous to ski with the view of the lake below. This is an ideal area for beginners & intermediates. For more experienced skiers Chatel & the vast Portes du Soleil is only an easy 40 mins drive. It is also a great location for Summer activities include golf, walking, mountain biking, white water rafting, parapenting, sightseeing or just relaxing by the lake. Thollon is located 35 miles from Geneva (around 75 mins drive) and about 550 miles from Calais (approx 8.5 hours drive - motorway nearly all the way). The village is about 7.5 miles from Evian, famous for its water, where there is a ferry port from which you can travel around the lake to Geneva, Yvoire, Lausanne or Montreux (where you will find Freddie Mercury's statue & Montreux music festival )

This is a great location, not only for enjoying the lake, but as stepping stone for Switzerland & Italy. Annecy, Chamonix & Geneva are all within easy reach. Montreux, well known for the music festival aswell as the Christmas markets throughout December is nearby. There is a hot water jacuzzi spa @ Lavey Les Bains which just has to be experienced, but for the more adventurous type, parapenting & white water rafting are also available or why not try the fantastic cable @ Chatel or the highest Alpine roller coaster in the world @ Gstaad - not for the faint hearted. In addition to those activities already mentioned there is ten pin bowling,horse riding & tennis locally. For those not wanting to ski in Winter, you can hire snow shoes and walk in designated areas enjoying the fabulous lake and mountain views. There is also the famous 'chocolate train' which visits the Cailler chocolate factory ( lots of samples ) and the pretty village of Gruyeres with it's castle & cheese making

  • This is very much our home from home & as such has been furnished to a high standard. We are happy for you to use our bedding & towels but if you do, we would ask that you cover the cost of the laundry:
    Double: 25 euros, single: 17 euros. Payable locally

    A 40% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A security deposit of £150.00 is required with the balance of the rental payment. The apartment cleaning cost is included in the price.

    5% discount for a 2 week booking

    Dates & changeover days can be flexible dependant on other bookings.

In addition to the Spa in Evian, you can visit Lavey Les Bains with 36 degrees Centigrade. water hydro jets for all year round use. Why not visit the glacier at Gstaad to ski or experience the worlds highest alpine roller coaster at 3000 metres. There is also lakeside swimming & an aqua park. There are amazing views of the lake from the village which is lively, in season, and has plenty of restaurants & some bars most of which surround the telecabine, about a kilometre away. The lift is used to take skiers and walkers (Summer) alike up to 1500m & the main ski area (top lift 2000m). There are a couple of hotel restaurants a short walk away together with a bakers, fromagerie, tabac & a supermarket. The spacious apartment is on the top/3rd floor. There are two large bedrooms – the master bedroom has a wardrobe, dressing table, full length mirror, bedside drawers, a super king size bed (6ft wide) & an ensuite with large shower enclosure & WC, vanity unit & heated towel rail.

The second bedroom has two single beds, drawers,wardrobe, full length mirror & dressing table. Both bedrooms have their own balcony which is approx. 10' x 4' & benefits from the afternoon/evening sun, an ideal place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine in hand. There is a separate WC\bathroom with a shower attachment,vanity unit & heated towel rail. The 20' x 11' lounge has two large sofas that can convert into 4'6'' beds, & there is another balcony with fabulous views of the mountain which catches the morning sun (ideal for breakfast-lunch). There is also a TV/Video & DVD/CD player for music & films. The TV is fitted with a digibox & is able to pick up an assortment of UK freeview channels. Adjacent to the lounge area there is a kitchen/diner with a table which can open to sit six people & the kitchen is fully fitted with a hob/ oven/ microwave/ toaster/ tassimo coffee machine & fridge. with a small freezer compartment.

There is a 'cave' (storage area) downstairs which is ideal for keeping skis.

a place of wonderful memories

My wife and I have been to this apartment twice now 2007/2008 for skiing. The apartment is spacious and very modern with a clean and well equipped kitchen. Lovely bathrooms and lounge with a big lounge with large comfortable sofas, and equipped with digital and DVD. Found ourselves very often sitting on the balcony enjoying the wonderful sunsets and eating breakfast first thing in the morning. Everything within the apartment was very well presented and soon became a soft place to drop at the end of a hard worth of skiing. Skiing itself in the area is good for novice and medium skiers with more challenging ski resorts only a short drive away. The town itself has great hirer shops with great prices. With the Swiss border being close its good to take a trip to the wonderful Spa and Glacier 3000, so good we got engaged at the very top. Thollen its self has a nice cluster of warm local restaurants that serve very good French and English cuisine, we especially enjoyed the Rachlette (baked cheese) which you just dripped onto potatoes and cold cuts. The apartment is close enough to be practical for skiing but at the same time gives you that feeling of being away from it all. Merril, offers a wonderful customer service and was always available for questions. A place of wonderful memories, with enough variety to come back again and again, I would have no reservations in recommending this to couples and families alike.

Attractive, well situated apartment

We spent a very relaxing week this August, in this clean and comfortable apartment. We were accurately informed by email of the facilities and booking was easy, as was access to the apartment on arrival.The views were great. I bet it's lovely in winter here. It was very peaceful, although the cow bells could be clearly heard on some nights.The weather allowed us to take in the summer sunshine on the balconyand the cable car up the 'mountain' opposite (although they didn't like changing a note for the fare!). It was a good base for visiting: Switzerland as well as The Alps and easy to access Lac Leman for swimming.We had no difficulty parking in the area.There was a local fete in the village, the weekend of our stay, which offered further ambience .The boulangerie was useful, as was the shop- although obviously a little more expensive than the supermarkets.The nearest Intermarche is good. I did miss having laundry facilities on site, but there is a launderette in the village and a local let me have some of his washing powder as my change ran out! An iron/ board in the apartment would prove useful. We didn't use the restaurants- the exchange rate made prices seem high, but there are plenty about. Everywhere advertises fera and trout. Yvoire is well worth a visit and Evian and Geneva ( where parking is less easy on the street unless you have a disc, which can be got from a tourist office, I believe).

Wow! We'll be there again!

After an adventurous drive up following the GPS we found the complex and it was every bit as good as the pictures. The instructions are all good, the appartment is superbly comfortable and well appointed and the views are stunning. If you are driving be aware that sat nav will take you through the Jura mountains - which is no bad thing - but the final bit is easier if you go direct to Evian then up to the flat. The lake is stunning in every sense. Take the Ferry to Lausanne but dont be tempted to walk into the centre - it is very steep! The metro is very good and easy to use. Motrueax is just round the corner and a lovely drive. Evian is so pretty and the lake front is a great palce to go people watching! Also one of the most demanding mini-golf courses near the pool. Brilliant! Almost every day at the pool which is real;ly well appointed and most nights eating out - the choice is enormous. We loved it and cannot wait to go back. You will have a wonderful comfy time.

Fantastic stay in relaxing village near Lake Geneva.

Evian is nearby which has some good restaurants and is really pretty.

Excellent location near Swiss border.
