Thanks Gwen & Steve ...

Review Submitted: October 13, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2010
At the beginning of August this year my partner and I once again stayed at Seashore House - we were here in September last year - but this time we had my brother, sister her husband and three children with us again, just as in August 2008. Once again the accomodation was faultless and both Gwen and Steve very welcoming. As we have relatives and friends in the village, we tend not to go far but just use the week for 'chilling out' and catching up on gossip etc. We do however manage the odd day out to Aberdeen and also just up the road to Stonehaven. For those who want to get out and about more, there are plenty of leaflets in the villa, courtesy of Gwen and Steve, of places of interest to visit, restaurants for a good meal etc and these are kept up-to-date. Every amenity in the village is no more than five minutes away from the villa and everyone in the village, pubs and shop are friendly and welcoming. Take a seat in the harbour on any day and just gaze out at the north sea and let the serenity of the place wash over you because this is relaxation at its best. Seashore House plays its part too in that it really is a home-from-home and has every modern convenience you could wish for and, if there is anything else that you need, if it is possible, Gwen and Steve will make sure that it's available for you.

We will be back again next year and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Seashore House to anyone. Any holiday is what you make of it but staying at Seashore House certainly gets you off to a flying start. Try it, you wont be disappointed either by the villa itself or its location just over the road from the sea and what a view to wake up to ......

Seashore House was absolutely brilliant, the cleanliness, facilities etc. were first class. The en-suite facilities for all rooms were exceptional. What fantastic views of the North Sea, the superb location also made it easy to get about the area be it walking (local) or by car. A must to visit is the beach at St Cyrus (5 miles south) it's stunning. Gwen and Steve made our stay very, very comfortable. Hopefully we'll be back next year.

Johnshaven Holiday

Review Submitted: January 21, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2009
We had a great time in Johnshaven and found Seashore House to be extremely well presented with excellent facilities. The owners were friendly and while living next door, they gave us privacy to enjoy Seashore House. We have 2 small children and they enjoyed the nearby swing park, beaches and surrounding scenery. Johnshaven is a great base for exploring Kincardineshire and Angus area. We had trips the Discovery Centre ( HMS Discovery Scott's ship) in Dundee, Aberdeen, Montrose (wonderful bird watching estuary) and Braemar. Lots to do for those who love splendid beaches, wildlife and Scottish history.

Gracious hosts, very clean, nicely furnished etc

Review Submitted: January 20, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2009
We arrived the day after Boxing day and left just after New Year. Johnshaven is very quaint. The Cottage location is fantastic - 10ft from the shore, with views straight out to sea. Hosts Gwen and Steve had left Xmas presents for my husband and I plus one each for our 3 children - which was such a lovely gesture. The Cottage is modern inside, well furnished and VERY CLEAN. There was nothing in our weeks stay that I can honestly say we needed. It is very well equipped for not stepping outside the door if that's what you want!!.
On New Years Eve - we joined the villagers by meeting at the harbour side for the "ringing of the bell" at Midnight. Steve also invited us to join their family celebrations afterwards - which again was very gracious.
It was clear that Johnshaven has a few "holiday lets". The local pub, whilst bar staff were friendly, was clearly not suitable for taking children into. There is a small village shop - that stocks most things with a friendly shop owner who was very informative about where to avoid and recommendations.
We spent most of our days visiting relatives in Portlethan and Aberdeen so were not using the week as a touring or site seeing stay.
I would have NO hesitation in recommending Seashore House - for us it was perfect.
Our only regret being that we couldn't get into Stonehaven for the Fireball celebrations - next time we will make sure we have the restaurant (who wants to walk around for hours in the cold with children in tow!!) booked months in advance!
We had plnty of snow - driving up and at one point that we would never get our of Scotland on the return journey - but that just adds to the memory!!!

Anyone letting Seashore - will not have any reason to complain. Gracious Hosts, Clean, well equipped, nicely furnished, everything you need in a home, great views, lovely and Warm (on those cold wintry evenings). We were sad to be leaving.
