The cottage is approached through its own garden via a short flight of steps opening into a central hallway with all the accommodation laid out on one level. To the right is a spacious dual aspect kitchen-dining room recently updated with fitted units in the kitchen area, whilst the traditional terracotta floor tiles and shuttered windows maintain the building's original character. The dining area has a table & chairs, a comfy armchair and storage unit housing crockery and glassware plus a collection of local maps and information.
To the left of the hall is a relaxing sitting room with 3 piece suite, pouffe, coffee table, stocked bookcase, a selection of board games and CDs, a DVD player and TV receiving UK free-to-air programs. There is an efficient wood burning stove with top-box for warming plates or mulling wine.
The original chestnut parquet floor has been retained, whilst a central carpet square and curtains at the large shuttered window overlooking the garden add to the cosy feel of the room.
The two bedrooms are either side of the hall; the double bedroom faces west and has lovely views across to the distant forest, where the sunsets are magnificent. The twin bedroom opposite benefits from the morning sun rising over neighbouring fields. As well as beds, each room is furnished with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror, chair, bedside cabinets and lamps. The floors are chestnut parquet with scatter rugs; there are pictures on the walls and curtains at the windows as well as the working shutters. Bed linen is supplied with a choice of duvet weights to suit the season. At the end of the hallway is a large fully tiled shower room, bath mats are supplied and towels may be hired if required.
There is on-site parking and a lockable store for cycles, fishing rods, golf clubs, walking boots.
