Dalyan: The tiny town of Dalyan in the province of Mugla on the South-Western Mediterranean is set in the centre of a broad delta whose natural beauty is completely unspoilt. This is one of the surviving corners of paradise, an area of outstanding natural beauty and historic interest. The Dalyan Channel, through which water circulates between the Mediterranean and Köycegiz Lake slowly meanders, forming a network of small lakes and waterways through reed beds rising to between 3 and 5 metres in height. (The journey through this natural labyrinth is romantic and mysterious) With its mixture of fresh and salt water, these wetlands have become home to vast numbers of fish and other water life, as well as the birds of many species which feed on them. Dividing the sea from the delta is the Iztuzu sandbar stretching for 5km east from the mouth of the channel.

Golf and Ski: The Dalyan area is a world heritage site famous for its 5 km beach voted in the top ten of the world and home of the giant loggerhead turtle Carretta Carretta. It is also only 25 min from the brand new 27 hole golf course in Sarigerme opening in 2010and also 1 hour from the new ski centre at Seki, Fethiye which opens this Winter. The Hilton hotel golf complex is to be opend later in 2010 with 27 holes and 23 bars and restyauarants

5km beach and ancient ruins: This is the home of Iztuzu beach and has 5kms of crescent shaped totally unspoilt beach to swim, walk or play. Motor boats are not allowed here as the giant loggerhead breeds between May and August and it is possible to go on early morning viewing trips to the beach to feed the turtles. The ancient city of Caunos is just over the river as are the Lycian cliff tombs and in the summer open air concerts are sometimes organised on the Amphitheatre area.

Golf: There is an 18 hole golf course 30 mins away In Sarigerme right on the coast and opening end of 2008 The skiing is available from Dec to April at Seki which is a one hour drive from Dalyan _ skis can be hired from the centre but it is only suitable for beginners and early intermediates - however if you want to sunbathe and ski on the same day as I did in Christmas it is possible.
