Photos and Description of this Wiltshire holiday cottage Spacious two bedroomed light and airy cottage with open plan downstairs

This charming holiday home is set in the Courtyard of Wick Farm down a small lane off a minor road. It is delightfully quiet and secluded and yet within a few minutes of the small town of Tisbury which has shops and a railway station which has regular services to London, Waterloo. All the main rooms have views accross the unspoilt Nadder valley. Tisbury is a great centre for walking and for exploring Dorset. The historic cities of Salisbury and Bath as well as Wilton are great for days out and it is just over an hour by car to the stunning Dorset coast.

The Stables is a converted 18th century stables set in the courtyard of Wick Farm which dates from the 17th Century. In the surrounding field is an Enlish Heritage site thought to be the remains of a medieval village.Tisbury is surrounded by wonderful countryside for walking and cycling and there is a footpath leading to a network of local walks 50yards away. There are 3 golf courses within half an hours drive and horse riding nearby. There are many charming country pubs which serve food within 15 mins or less drive, or a great walk, and a wealth of historic homes and sites to visit. The ruins of Wardour Castle, where the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, was shot are close by and Stonehenge is a 25mins drive. There is an outdoor pool in Tisbury and a sports centre with a gym and tennis courts. The Stables - Tisbury, Wiltshire

Review Submitted: May 9, 2010 Date of Stay: April 2010
A sweet homely cottage with all the amenities required for a great holiday. The listing description was very accurate as the cottage was in a beautiful rural setting with lovely walks, offering peace and tranquility. The property was clean, well maintained and welcoming, as the owners had put the heating on in advance of our arrival. We especially enjoyed the added bonus of table football provided in the property. Good selection of pubs close by and we highly recommend The Beckford Arms, Fonthill Gifford, offering good food, using locally sourced produce. We spent a very enjoyable day in Salisbury, strolling around the interesting market, followed by a visit to the Cathedral, well worth a visit. Lovely walks from the doorstep and suggest a stop off at Old Wardour Castle (just a few miles from the property). Leo the cat was always there to welcome us home. Would most definitely recommend this property to friends or relatives and in fact will most definitely revisit.
