West Sands, featured in the opening sequence of the Oscar winning film ‘Chariots of Fire’. St. Andrews town is steeped in Scottish history as well as in golfing history. There are many local attractions for the discerning traveller. It is a very friendly University town and everyone is made to feel welcome. A golfer's paradise and plenty of nice shops for the golfing widow.

This delightful and comfortable two storey cottage is ideally situated within walking distance of shops and restaurants with the benefit of a sunny garden to the rear and off-street parking. The cottage has a homely feel about it, and the natural wood finishings give it extra character. On two levels, the property comprises:- Ground Floor:- Entrance Hall, Sitting Room - an inviting room with comfy seating, gas/coal effect fire, colour tv., video, hi-fi and fold-down dining table and chairs. Kitchen - modern kitchen in traditional style, well equipped. First Floor:- Bedroom - Two single beds, dressing table, ample storage for clothes etc. Bedroom - Two single beds, built-in wardrobe. Bathroom - Bath with overhead shower, wc and wash basin. Outside:- to the rear is a nice area to sit out with grass and shrubs and off-street parking to the side of the cottage.

A week in February Brrrrrrrrrrr !

I would NEVER return to this property .
The shower had less flow than a watering can .
The house was cold with an assortment of antiquated heating devices .
The parking is SHARED with the upstairs tennant , and this resulted in musical chairs with cars , and haphazard communication . .
On our departure day we were sandwiched between two other cars , with no prior warning , and had to get the young lady out of bed to escape .
I cannot believe that conditions that would relate more to the sixties are still on offer.
I would concede that the house was clean , and centrally located , but no , NEVER AGAIN .
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car

As you can see others have really enjoyed this property which is traditional (not sixties) with a newly fitted working shower room (which within half an hour of being called out a plumber had attended to confirm misoperation was the problem). It does get cold here outside in Feburary but the electric storage heating coupled with very modern and efficient electric fire in the sitting room make it very cosy inside. The off street parking is big enough for two cars to easily park, however this does require both parties to be considerate - we will ensure this issue is rectified for future guests.

We are grateful for all feedback in order that we can constantly improve our service and ensure that not only most of the guests enjoy their stay here, but all of them.
