This is a hidden gem on your search to find the perfect Tuscany holiday.
Belforte is magnificant a truly peaceful, tranquil and "real" italian experience.
We (two adults and 3 children 8, 6 ,3 )stayed in Belforte for 17 days in late May early June and had a wonderful holiday in the Tuscan hills.
The village is very quite with very few tourists, the views are amazing and while the village is remote, it is still only a short drive to Sienna, Randicondilli is 5 mins away, beach is about an hour away
on our trip we visited pisa, Florence, Sienna (my favourite), beach, Chianti, Modena and Rome (about 3hrs to vatican)
Every one who stays will fall in love with Cafe La Mura a cafe / pizzeria about 20 meters from the house. The pizza is fantastic and at 4 euro a pizza you can afford to have plenty!
The house itself is wonderful, a medieval house which has been nicely modernized, While there is no garden this not bother us at all, the kids played with the local kids on the street and there is a park in belforte and randicondoli which are great.
The house has all you could need, and comes even with some board games and books
Make sure to practice some Italian before you go as very few in the village speak English
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did
