Direct sea & beach views &, beyond to the Isle of Wight, especially from the fully glassed lounge & new large front balcony/sundeck. A great 3 bed Beach House, sleeping up to 6 comfortably (4/5 adults + 2 kids), on a private & gated estate with private access to an uncrowded beach. An unusual 2 storey house with spacious open plan living over 4 levels internally. Secure & pleasant large garden & good communal estate play areas. Be on the beach in under a minute where the waters are shallow & the tide can go out a few hundred yards. Swimming is excellent with the vicinity recognised for water sports, incl surfing & kayaking. World reknowned for fossil hunting at low tide & fossils can often be found. The East & West Witterings are 20 & 40 mins beach walk away - less by bike. Numerous good nearby attractions.

  • The price shown is inclusive of bed linen (the beds are made up) and towels (not beach towels).

    Weekly lets are normally Friday to Friday, particularly in high season, in order to manage cleaning and the bed linen service. Entry is normally 3pm and departure no later than 10.30am to allow housekeepijng access. This is common practice with letting. Saturday to Saturday can sometimes be specially arranged on enquiry

    The calendar on this website does not allow showing the starting and leaving day together and therefore weekly lets are shown as 6 days however it is 7 days (with the 7th day being a leaving day)

    Short breaks available on enquiry but not usually in high season. Out of season short breaks usually start around £325 for either: Weekend - 3 nights - of Fri/Sat/Sun. Weekday - 4 nights - of Mon/Tues/Wed & Thur. Weekly 2011 rates are from £505pw non peak rising up to £965pw in peak (summer, goodwood, festivals etc).

Beachside House

Holiday started well with a kind & helpful welcome from the housekeeper. The layout of the house was intriguing, having 4 floors in a 2 storey house. The house (almost on the beach) was beautifully maintained & decorated, and had contemporary furnishings. The only fault for me personally (a pensioner) was that I would have appreciated a handrail on the stairs.
The 2 sundecks/balcony's were wonderful. For sun worshippers one of them was always in the sunlight, or conversely, shade, for those of us who cannot cope with extreme heat. We had the 2 hottest weeks last summer. I spent hours in the shade in the mornings on the glass fronted front balcony reading & just enjoying the wonderful view over the sea to the Isle of Wight. The same view was enjoyed from the lounge through the huge patio windows. At low tide one could walk for miles along the sea shore, & even the horses from the local stables came for their dip in the sea & a canter along the beach through the shallow water.
When I accidently locked us out of the house the housekeeper came to our rescue. We cannot speak too highly of her helpfulness & care, & she is a great asset to the owners. Having a safe parking space just outside the house was great. We enjoyed some lovely meals which were good value for money at the nearby Pond Barn Restaurant. We had a really lovely holiday.

Our Holiday

For our second visit, we once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accomodation having a secure garden to the rear is so helpful when you have small children! The proximity to the sea ensures that you hear it from the sitting room, and being on a private complex, there is no traffic so the children can use their bikes around the area. The local amenities are a walk or a cycle away, but Chichester is close by. The nearby sailing club is beautiful, and there are garden centres and other attractions close by.
The accomodation itself is always clean and well equipped, with many toys in the back garden. We must buy a boat though for next time!!!!

Very nice and comfy

We are extremely pleased with the house. Clearly a lot of effort was put into making our stay as pleasant as possible.

The description is perfectly accurate, if anything, it's modest. The place has a dishwasher and washing machine. Towels are provided as well as maps and brochures about places of interest. There are garden toys, games and even a little DVD-collection for bad weather.

All rooms, were clean, hygienic and tidy. The house feels almost new.

We were very pleased with the customer service. The landlord answering email's promptly and the housekeeper lives right around the corner. Everybody was extremely friendly and accommodating.

There is plenty to see with Chichester about 15, Portsmouth about 30 and Brighton about 45 car-minutes away. There are pubs and several smaller shops within walking distance and a large store in neighbouring Chichester.

I would definitely recommend the place to Families with children, as a quiet retreat or as a starting point for exploration.

pleasant stay in a pleasant environment

My english isn't good enough to express the impressions, we had the luck to get in the south of England. Everything in the property is as desribed and so we had no problems to enjoy our holidays.
