Wood Cottage is in a peaceful and historic area of Penzance. Close to the town centre yet enjoying a quiet and charming area of cottages and courtyards that reflect the history of the area. New Street runs parallel to Chapel Street, rightly considered one of the most interesting and elegant streets in Penzance. Chapel Street has many interesting art galleries, restaurants and antique shops and the street itself runs directly down to the promenade and the famous art deco outdoor bathing pool. The cottage offers wifi for those who would like that facility.

A level walk along the promenade takes you to the fishing village of Newlyn and in the other direction a cycle path runs alongside the shore to both the ancient town of Marion and St. Michaels Mount.

The harbour is only a few minutes walk and the towns amenities of shops, bus and rail stations, libraries and parks are also within easy reach on foot. Also within two minutes walk is the new conversion of a telephone exchange building to an exiting award nominated art gallery.

We stayed at the house for 14 days with 2 adults and 2 14 year old teenager and we loved it very much. The house was as described, very spacious, well equipped and nearby all important shopping facilities. Very comfortable having a garage where even a smaller station wagon fits in. Having an own place to sit in the sun or having a BBQ would make the house excellent, but there are other places to go for. Nearby fishing possibilities, restaurants etc.Most of the noise is done by the seagulls - but you can not escape them anyway. We strongly recommend that house to others.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
