Set well back with the Lickeys above, the side of the cottage runs parallel with the road, the front of the cottage is situated overlooking the garden making it a very tranquil place.
Entry is through the front porch into the dining room, to the left is a separate sitting room with a real fire and a three piece leather suite.
To the right of the dining room into what was the old nail makers forge is the kitchen with vaulted high beamed ceilings, solid wood units, fully fitted to the highest standard with a large fridge freezer, oven,hob,dishwasher and microwave,everything you need.
To the rear of the ground floor is a large family bathroom newly created complete with a rolltop bath and a separate shower, high quality fittings throughout. there is also a utility area and a cloakroom downstairs.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, the main bedroom has vaulted ceiling a super king size bed a wardrobe, chair, dressing table with mirror and a bed side cabinet, with enough room to have an extra bed if required.
The second bedroom shown as a single, can be made into a double, this does reduces the floor area and the chair would have to be removed.
The third bedroom has two single beds one full size, one is 5'10' in length 3' in width so perfect for children.
There ia a wc upstairs off the landing area.
The gardens are large and mature a magical wonderland, they back onto the Lickey Hills, which is reachable from a pathway just a few hundred yards from the cottage. From the top of Lickey Hill you look out over the golf course, the countryside and the city.
There is a paved seating area to the front of the cottage where you can sit and enjoy a glass of your favourite wine or beer.
There is a barbeque so it's easy to dine alfresco!! There is more seating at the back of the cottage which is a real suntrap!
Fern cottage has a gated drive with ample parking for 6 cars. Just an amazing place to stay!
Golf:
The Lickey Hills Golf course was the first ever municipal course in England, it is known for being challanging even more so when breezy. The jurrassic underlations on the second half of the course helps you to appreciate the landscape in Tolkiens time here, and helps you see where some of his inspiration for middle earth came form. The rates are very reasonalble although booking is essential, there is a golf shop and a small cafe which is located near the duck ponds.
