Welcome to the Cape Verde islands with year round sunshine, white beaches and clear blue waters. Only a 6 hr flight from the UK with no jet lag. Air conditioned ground floor property located on the exclusive 'Porto Antigo 1 Residence' around 80 meters from the private beach. Location, location, location...Porto Antigo this is the place everyone wants to stay. Testimony to this are the number of guests returning for their 3rd/4th visit-see guest book (Porto Antigo1-we have been renting on Porto Antigo 1 since January 2007.)In an idyllic position directly on the stunning white sandy beach of Santa Maria, Porto Antigo is ideally situated within a few minutes walk of Santa Maria town where you will find shops, banks, pharmacy and in excess of 50 places to eat and drink.

Wow... this really is the perfect beach retreat for some serious rest and relaxation. Or for the more energetic try the numberous water sports which Sal is renowned for all within a few minutes walk of the Porto Antigo Residence. The world Windsurfing championships have been held in Sal for 2 consecutive years attracting visitors from all over the world. Kite surfers and wind surfers you can lauch your board directly from the terrace of number 4 Porto Antigo 2.

The small colourful town of Santa Maria is located within a few minutes walk of the Porto Antigo Residence. Here there are many fine restaurants, bars, shops, banks, bakery and mini markets. Watch the locals entertain you from one of the many pavement cafes. The capital of Espargos is around a 20 minute drive, experience the local Alugier minibus for 1 euro.

There are no hidden charges the price quoted is per property regardless of the number of guests. Electricity, water, air conditioning, weekly cleaning and linen change are included in the price. If you require additional cleaning, linen change and personal laundry this can be arranged and paid for locally. Unlike a hotel we are able to offer flexibility in respect of departure times and chageover days. Non refundable deposit required of 25% to confirm booking with balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.

We have a number of guests we have had the pleasure to welcome back for their 3rd/4th visit. Sal was featured on Channel 4's 'A Place in the Sun' when Cheryl Baker of Bucks Fizz fame was captured by the beauty of its unspoilt beaches and year round sunshine (4 July 2008). The large freshwater swimming pool is surrounded by pretty landscaped gardens; rarely crowded- its like having your own private pool. Or choose to relax on the beautiful white private beach which is reserved for guests only. Sheltered by the old harbour wall the private beach with shallow waters is perfect for the little ones to splash around. Toys and inflatables provided.

The stunning miles and miles of white sand which is Santa Maria's main beach is just a few minutes walk, here you will find an abundance of water sports to entertain, or for the less energetic soak up the sun followed by a BBQ and a glass of something cool at the Beach Club-a favourite spot for people watching. We have added those little extras that make your holiday complete-microwave, hairdryer, dvd, video, PlayStation, hammocks, toys & inflatables for the pool. Playsation, video and dvd a bonus to entertain the children when the sun is too hot. The Porto Antigo Residence has around 100 properties offering an intimacy that larger developments and hotels cannot compete with. The Papayas restaurant has an enviable position where guests can enjoy breakfast, coffee or a light meal, take away meals available. During the evening enjoy a cocktail whilst watching the sun set over Santa Maria bay.

At night time a perfect romantic ambience is created with beautiful lighting around the pool and beach.
