The House Comprises of the following :-
Ground floor kitchen diner, fully equiped for those meals in, or alternatively try one of the local cafes or restaurants close by to enjoy the outside Cafe culture.
First floor accomodation has the master bedroom and bathroom, second floor you will find the lounge with ll window giving views over the rooftops. The lounge has a double sofa bed-TV & DVD bring your favourite films.Access to the first and second floors is via a spiral staircase. The house has been tastefully decorated & furnished with comfort being a priority.
Portiragnes Village: The village centre has shops, small supermarket, two bars and restaurants as well as wine caves selling local wine.
The Village Plage: Approx 2 miles away offering miles of lovely sandy Mediterranean beaches backed by sand dunes. There are various shops + regular street markets throughout the year. A good selection of bars & resturants can also be found.
The historic Canal du Midi made famous by Rick Stein's recent BBC programme French Odyssey flows by the village before heading for the sea.
The Region: Said to be the sunniest in the whole of France and benefits from a Mediterranean microclimate. Vineyards surround the village and tasting the local produce is recommended. The closest town is Beziers 10 mins drive,a lovely old cathedral town with excellent shopping, other towns of interest are Carcassonne world heritage site 50 mins, Narbonne, Adge & Sete with its many waterways and lovely waterside restaurants all closeby. Spanish border and Pyrenees are approx. 2 hrs drive away.
