Maubec is a quiet village at the foot of the Luberon Mountains, with its own baker, village shop, restaurant, bar and post office. It has been mentioned in the history books since the 12th Century and is a stunning old village with mountain scenery, olive groves, cherry trees and vineyards, which make it a paradise waiting to be discovered.
Activities available locally in the village include tennis courts, walking and biking trails.
A short drive will bring you to the Provence country club for golf. A public swimming pool can be found both in Cavaillon and Isle sur le Sorgue both a 15 minute drive away. The Mediterranean coast is no further than an hour’s drive either towards Marseille or the Carmargue.
The hilltop villages made famous by the Peter Mayle book ‘ A Year in Provence’ are here, including Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste which are all without exception a photographer‘s dream. For history lovers Avignon and Aix en Provence are a must.
