Photos and Description of this Moray holiday cottage 2 bedroom cottage near site of Old Pictish Fort, harbour, woods and beach

Burghead Cottage is a fisherman’s cottage built in 1857. With 2 bedrooms and 2 living areas it will comfortably sleep 4. Recently refurbished it provides bright and airy accommodation just a stone’s throw from the site of the old Pictish Fort, the harbour and the stunning sands of Roseisle Beach. Burghead is a small village on a promontory, with 3 pubs, a convenience store, chemist and library. It is ideal, not just for a beach or dolphin spotting holiday, but also for touring the Malt Whisky and Castle trails, as well as longer day trips to places such as the Cairngorms National Park, Culloden or Inverness.

Super holiday cottage in Burghead

Mrs HG Hampshire
Review Submitted: January 31, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2009
My family and I stayed here in the week after Christmas. The cottage was immaculately presented with every conceivable luxury you could need for a holiday. Most importantly in winter, the cottage was lovely and warm with fires in the main rooms to be extra cosy. There were two televisions, a fabulously well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and a power shower as well as a bath. We couldn't really take advantage of the little garden but it would be lovely in summer with outdoor furniture and a patio to sit out. The owners really care for the property and are very friendly and helpful. The price charged is very good value for the high standard of property. All in all, we loved our stay here. Burghead itself was very picturesque. There is a little shop down the road selling everything you might need, several pubs and a sweet little harbour. Everyone was very friendly and the village was lovely and peaceful. Would highly recommend Burghead Cottage as a comfortable and cosy base for a holiday in the area.

The perfect holiday

Burghead Cottage was all that it promised to be. The facilities, the decor and the location could not be faulted.
Within a five minute walk were open views across the Firth, a very friendly local - the Harbour Inn - which does very good meals, the harbour with friendly seals and even a butty van to get that early morning bacon roll after walking the dog along wide empty beaches....we're going back for more in 2010. We can sum up Burghead Cottage in just two words....GO THERE.....

Our Holiday at Burghead

Jasper's owner West Yorkshire
Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
A very well equipped cottage with all the comforts of Home.
Well placed for walking locally or a short drive to most of the regions attractions. We particularly enjoyed walking along the beach of an evening which seemed to be a popular evening activity with many others.
I would definately recomend this cottage to anyone who is used to a high standard of accommodation.
