  • Had the best birthday ever here this week.A welcoming party of Soay sheep bounded down the drive to greet us and that kick-started the holiday brilliantly. Celebrated in style with friends and family. We all loved the house, the location, the breath-taking views, the sunsets,.BBQ's on the decking overlooking the Loch, trips to Plockton for meals -best seafood Plockton Shores--fabulous Cullen Skink and seafood platter and----oh, for Heaven's Sake,go there for yourself, you will not be dissappointed! Plockton Hotel has its own real ale from the very local micro-brewery and great food, too. Only downside for some of our party was the notorious west coast midgie -fortunately they didnt like me- so Avon Skin-So-soft was the fragrance du jour, and did help. .Apart from that very small problem, this was Heaven On Earth for me and i can't wait to come back!-'----Elaine and Bill, Moray.------
  • -------'P.S--A trip to Glenelg to see the brochs-amazing and the community car ferry across to Skye from Glenelg is good fun, too. Seals pop up around the ferry and chaperone you to the other side!-- Elain and Bill.

Wonderful holiday memories!

Review Submitted: November 19, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We loved everything here! The weather was incredible and the scenery bathed in sunlight was breathtaking. The house suited us perfectly and was extremely well equipped. Although we had warm days, the nights were chilly but the house was very cosy, particularly when we lit the fire in the evenings. The views are fabulous. The children loved the garden - especially the visiting grazers!
Without exception, everyone we met was really friendly and helpful with local information. We visited Skye and walked up to the Fairy Pools, which were so inviting. Applecross was also well worth the trip - the journey over the top was thrilling. Callum's Seal Trips delivered on their promise of seals-we saw loads, and the children even had a turn at steering the boat! While down on the beach across road from cottage we were joined by some very inquisitive llamas, and when the tide went out we waded across to the island and saw seals basking on the rocks and herons in the trees! We stuck out our hand at the station and took the train into Kyle, where the fish and chip suppers are the best we've had. If you walk upto the mast behind the cottage you pass wonderfully hairy highland cows and after about 30mins are rewarded by the most amazing scenery you will ever see..
We had an unforgettable week here, our favourite holiday and will definitely return.
Owner's Response: We are delighted with this review and it brings back many happy memories of our life in our lovely former home.

Review Submitted: November 18, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Had a wonderful week in this lovely property, admiring the beautiful views. The weather has been marvellous, we were so lucky.
Visited Plockton and had some super meals at the Plockton Inn and Plockton Hotel. Went 'over the hills and far away' to Applecross, an inspiring journey, not to be missed! Had lunch in the Walled Garden, also to be recommended. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely cottage we have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends.
Owner's Response: We much appreciate these comments. Sheena and I are so pleased that we have been able to share the beautiful experiences of Ravenscraig Cottage with others.
