Rental rate discounts please enquire. Fisherman’s Retreat is a beautiful former fisherman’s terraced cottage centrally situated on a quiet side street within the walls of medieval Conwy. The cottage looks out onto the city walls one end of the terrace and Plas Mawr an Elizabethan building is situated at the other end of the terrace. All amenities and attractions are within walking distance of the cottage. Fisherman’s Retreat is an ideal cottage for using as a base to explore the North Wales coast and beyond. There is plenty to do all year round. The Railway Station and bus stops are just around the corner. PARKING outside the cottage.

Conwy is situated on the North Wales coast, just inside the River Conwy estuary and is an excellent base for exploring North Wales. The 700 year old castle guards the entrance of the walled Harbour which offers fishing and boat trips, a marina and a sandy beach with views to Anglesey and Puffin Island. Conwy boasts several good restaurants (where you can try the famous Conwy mussels), inns and fish & chip shops. There are also plenty of activities to keep you occupied, including exploring the local history, golf, walking, cycling, fishing, building sand castles on the beach or even a day trip to Dublin from Holyhead! There are over 200 listed buildings within the town walls, including Aberconwy House which dates back to the 14th century and is believed to be the oldest surviving townhouse in Wales, Plas Mawr which is an Elizabethan townhouse and not forgetting The Smallest House in Britain.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Weekly bookings are Saturday to Saturday. All lettings commence at 2.00pm on the day of arrival and the cottage should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

    Weekend & short breaks available (November - March) from only £40 per night (3 night stay) or £50 per night 2 night stay. Flexible start days.

    All prices inclusive of heating, electricity and bed linen/towels.

    Sorry no pets and no smoking inside the property.

    A non-refundable deposit of £100 per week is payable on booking.

The accommodation has been fully renovated and newly furnished including gas central heating and double glazing. The cottage sleeps 4 people, having a double bed in bedroom 1 and adult bunk beds in bedroom 2. The bathroom has an over-bath shower. Downstairs there is a spacious lounge/diner and separate kitchen leading on to a secure courtyard at the rear with table and chairs. Facilities include television, DVD, CD, tape recorder and radio, video, cooker, fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside there is a small patio area, with a table and chairs, which over looks Conwy walls. Fisherman's Retreat cottage is a high quality holiday cottage, where holiday makers return to year on year. Great cottage.

Clean, Warm, Comfortable and well equiped property. Perfectly positioned within Conwy (and easy to find, the directions were fine), the parking is great and never got blocked by someone else.
Our kids loved this cottage as much as we did - I really cannot fault the two holidays we had here. We found it easy to relax here.
The owner is polite and helpful.
We spoke to other people holidaying in this road and they too were repeat visitors that could not fault the holidays here. Some were walkers and identified Conwy as a great base for walking; some like us were on family holidays and found so much to do, and when we were lucky with the weather decent beaches were close at hand.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

brilliant house and great value for money

i spent 3 weeks at the cottage earlier this year along with my girlfriend. we decided to drive down and getting into the place was not a problem at all with a reserved parking at the doorstep wich was ideal.the house is situated very close to the castle and a walking distance from all the shops which is very pracctical. The actualy house was a beautiful two bedroom cottage which is prefect for a small family or a couple wanting to get away. We both found the place very cosey and comfortable, and loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anybody wanting to make a visit to conwy. There is no doubt that we will both be visiting and stayin here in the future.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Our stay over the Christmas holidays was super. The cottage was warm,cosy,very clean and located just inside the old walls of Conwy. Shops,restaurants, banks and cafes & pubs were a few minutes walk and offered all that anyone would require.
There are a huge amount of attractions in the area and we felt it provided not only a very scenic town on the estuary but an ideal base to explore most of North Wales.
Areas easily accessible from Conwy are Bangor,Portmadog, Portmerion,Harlech,Betwys-y-Coed, Mold, Chester, Bala, Dolgellau, Welsh Mountains, Snowdonia, and all interesting places in between.
The owners provided a very friendly, helpful, and perfect service.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we will be returning again.
