A Cotswold Gem

Review Submitted: January 10, 2012 Date of Stay: December 2011
What a wonderful find. A cosy little retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds. We arrived to find a well cared for property, clean and tastefully decorated, packed with everything we needed. We were delighted to find even a decorated xmas tree with lights which was a really nice touch. The underfloor heating was amazing, never imagined it would keep us so toastie and warm. The full size oven meant we could easily cook up a feast for New Years Day. Plenty of brochures and books were available for attractions locally and further afield, and several walks for those who enjoy being out in this extremely pretty part of the world.
We only wished we had longer to stay there. The Bolt Hole is a real credit to Emma and Stuart and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a hideaway perfectly placed for exploring and relaxing. Thank you so much Emma and Stuart we had a wonderful time.

Lovely holiday getaway in a perfect location.

Review Submitted: August 9, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
The Bolt Hole though small is perfectly formed and was ideal for my husband and I, our 10 week old baby (and his travel cot). It provided us with everything we needed for a weekend away with the bonus of a great location with very decent wine bar, restaurant and a selection of pubs. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and I would recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to the cotswolds

Great choice!

Review Submitted: June 7, 2011 Date of Stay: May 2011
High praise for this lovely little property is well deserved. Just had a wonderful four day break at The Bolt Hole and very glad that we opted to go there. Full marks also to Emma for quick and effective communication. Loved the 'style' of the place which makes for a very cosy experience with nice little touches like the dimmer on the lights in the kitchen/lounge area as a good example. Also bedside lights which are good for reading which most hotels fail to achieve! Also, lovely bathroom and great shower (which is not shown on the website) was a joy as well. Thoughtful also to provide lovely table and chairs in the little sitting-out area which is great for that glass of wine and nibbles before supper.
Thanks Emma and Stuart for providing such a super little 'bolt hole' so reasonably priced....loved it and we'll be back!

A charming cottage in a charming cotswolds village

Review Submitted: April 25, 2011 Date of Stay: April 2011
We stayed in the bolt hole over easter for a week and had a lovely relaxing time. The bolthole was small but perfectly formed and perfect for a romantic getaway for two. The bolthole was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The bolthole was in a lovely small village that had everything you needed, 3 pubs (one very posh pub that had amazing food - the other two were more regular but still lovely) a butcher, baker, corner shop, wine bar etc and a weekly market. We went hiking using one of the books in the cottage, it started right on our door stop which was great and took us over rolling cotswolds countryside and through charming cotswolds villages. We were able to drive to bath, stratford and warwick in under an hour and we would also highly recommend the villages of slaughter and burton in the water. Overall a great cottage in a great location for a great price, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
