Villa Nostalgia is set just about the adjacent villa (Villa Poppy) but has its own pool and private parking area. The owner is a local lady who has taken great care in furnishing and decorating the villa. There are natural coloured floor tiles throughout the villa, comfotable leather couches in the living room, dark mahogany furniture in all of the bedrooms, and natural wood cupboards and bookshelves in the kitchen.
The warm coloured draperies and textiles in the villa give the house a lovely friendly feeling. All modern comforts are available at Villa Nostalgia, including satellite TV, DVD and CD players, dishwasher and washing machine, mosquito screens on all the windows, and air conditioning units in all the bedrooms and the living room.
The a/c units also double up as heaters for the cooler nights at the start and end of the season. The water is heated by either solar panel or a back-up emersion heater.
Villa Nostalgia has extra large water storage tanks to ensure that the villa never runs out of water during our long hot summers.
Larger groups or families who like to be near each other but still value their privacy, could also book the adjacent villa, Villa Poppy.
Plaka village square is only 1.1kms from Villa Nostalgia and is an easy 10 minute walk. Plaka was one of the original village sets for the film “Zorba the Greek” and it still has quaint whitewashed houses and narrow streets just off the mulberry tree lined square.
The modern outskirts of the village have expanded recently as have the facilities, which now include 3 excellent tavernas, 3 well stocked mini markets, a sweet shop, and 5 cafes. 3 of these cafes are just a short five minute walk from the villa.
Villa Nostalgia is just 5 minutes by car to the lovely village of Almyrida which is built around a crescent shaped sandy beach and has many shops, tavernas, cafes, the Villa Crete Holidays tourist office, and a watersports center which rents out windsurfers, kayaks, and catamarans.
