Located on a very quiet cul-de-sac which runs down to Wootton Creek, Mc's Wharf is uniquely positioned on the creekside offering superb views of the creek and onto The Solent. Children can play safely in the water while you keep an eye open from the upper deck, enjoying the rest and recuperation you have earned. The property has its own quayside and a shared slipway, with water access available for around six hours every high tide. The interior of the property is high spec ultra-modern, designed for practical fun living. Four double bedrooms (two en-suite) form the basis of the sleeping accommodation, and there is a fifth occasional double bedroom which serves as communal access to the quayside from the house. Wootton Bridge is conveniently located for travel to and from the mainland, and is 10 mins from Ryde and 20 mins from the Island capital of Newport. Yet in Mc's Wharf you are completely secluded from passing traffic, and can slip easily into beachbum mode. It's great!

If you want to get out on the water, Mc's Wharf is just perfect. The quayside and slipway give access for about six hours around high tide. 2 kayaks can be available on request (£10/week each). The safe sandy beach at Ryde is wonderful for children and the local beach at Wootton is secluded, although pebbly. Other beaches on the south side of the Island can be reached in 30mins. Cowes is just 15 mins away by car, so if its sailing you're after, this is a great location. The Island has a host of holiday attractions for all ages in addition to its beaches;- theme parks, boat trips, steam railway, National Trust and English Heritage properties (inc Queen Victoria's Osborne House), fantastic walking and cycling, and even a waxworks museum and flying trips.

  • Normal changeover day is Saturday. The property must be vacated by 1100 on day of departure. Arrivals from 1600. Shorter stays possible on request. Guests should supply their own bedlinen and towels. Duvets and pillows are provided. A breakage deposit of £200 will be taken, and returned after the property is vacated without damage to the house, furniture, fittings or equipment.

Mc's Wharf was built in 1980 and totally revamped in 2006. Located on a small private cul de sac lane in the delightful village of Wootton Bridge, it enjoys a unique position on Wootton Creek with its own waterfrontage and superb views of the Creek. The interior of the house is fitted to a very high standard with gas central heating, hardwood floors, ultra modern kitchen and bathrooms, and delightful bedrooms. All rooms on the creek-side of the house have large sliding windows overlooking the Creek, opening out onto a decked area which in turn leads to the paved quayside and shared slipway. The house is arranged 'upside down', with the huge kitchen/diner and living room on the first floor to capitalise on the views, both leading on to the upper deck. Also on this floor is a double bedroom (en-suite) with a single bed also available (family bedroom), a twin bedroom, and the separate family bathroom.

Downstairs is the master double bedroom (en-suite), and a double bedroom (with additional double sofabed), both with large glazed doors onto the lower deck. There is a 5th bedroom if required with a double settee/futon, but this room also provides communal access to the lower deck and quay area. Completing the downstairs accommodation is a large utility room/kitchen and a shower room/wc, handily placed for those wet children coming in from the Creek. Wootton Bridge is a few minutes drive from the Fishbourne Car Ferry Terminal (Wightlink from Portsmouth) and a 10min drive from Ryde with high speed passenger ferries (Wightlink Fastcat) from Portsmouth. In the village is a Tesco Express open from 6am-11pm with in-store bakery, a Spar minimarket, a butcher which sells local groceries and provisions in addition to island sourced meat, Chinese and Indian take-aways, two pubs offering meals, and the newly opened Lakeside Hotel for that special dinner.

And within a short walk from Mc's Wharf there's also a pharmacist, post office, surgery, vet, and filling station.
