The Green: a detached country house, 14 miles south west of Sheffield, close to Bakewell and Buxton. The house overlooks the pretty Peak District village of Hope, on the edge of the village, close to historic Castleton. Only a 3 minute flat walk to welcoming village pubs and local shops: butcher with locally reared meat (sheep in the next field to us!), hiking shop, greengrocer, 2 traditional cafes, delicassessen and cheese shop. Plus others! Heated Indoor Swimming Pool with water swimjet machine. Visiting catering service - special diets catered. Visiting spa therapies - ladies pamper party! Easy Tesco deliveries straight to the door - no muddy tracks to negotiate. IMPORTANT NOTE: WE OFFER WEEKENDS ONLY, EVEN IN JULY/AUGUST (Xmas and New Year excepted)

The Green is ideal for groups looking for the ultimate weekend retreat - or party palace. This is no cottage - the house is as huge as it is luxurious. Your first impression is one of grandeur as you drive through the wrought-iron gates up the wide sweeping drive and park beside the splendid 3-metre high ornamental fountain. Step from the car and enjoy the view - you'll look out over trees across the beautiful Hope Valley, with the distinctive church spire in the distance. Although there is not a neighbour in sight, you're just a 3-minute walk from village pubs and shops. Sleeps 18 in 7 bedrooms (includes 2 ‘quad’ bedrooms with sofabeds), 4 bathrooms (2 ensuite) plus a downstairs WC/washroom. Indoor heated swimming pool with water jet/wave machine. Patio doors from the pool open out onto decking. Separate dining room, table accommodates 18. Generous kitchen (4.70m x 4.24m) fully equipped. Log burning fire – starter supply of logs provided October to March.

Central heating and full double glazing throughout – bags of hot water from our new and efficient boiler and tank. Large 33-inch TV with Dolby digital surround-sound, includes CD / DVD / radio - plus additional TV/DVD in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Free Sky World package includes all Movies/Sports/Kids channels. Extensive enclosed gardens - not overlooked.
