Location: Barga is a mediaeval walled town oozing character with a wonderful feeling of yesteryear.
There are windy cobbled streets, numerous 'domes'; interesting architecture; various bridges, and best of all lots of culture. It is rare to find a week in Barga where there is nothing going on - from 'Market under the stars'/antiques markets; jazz week; musical ensembles ; art exhibitions, street dances, to quiet evenings sitting in one of the many Piazza's watching the world go by, or eating in one of the many good quality restaurants.
Barga is ideally located for exploring the rest of Northern Tuscany too - 45 mins from Lucca; 1 hr from Pisa; 1 hr 30 mins from Florence, and only a few minutes to the mountainous greenness of the totally unspoilt Garfagnana region with its 2 National Parks and hundreds of hill top villages. Explore all day and relax all evening at the reasonably priced restaurants or in the well equipped and comfortable property.......
