The downstairs of Quinta do Anjo is a huge open-plan space containing the kitchen, lounge and dining areas. The kitchen is equipped to the highest standard, including two dishwashers for the serious self-caterers. If your idea of fun on holiday is shopping in the market for all the best local produce then going home and preparing a feast, there is no better place to do it than here. The kitchen is a joy.
Also on the ground floor there is a WC, and the one of the two en-suite bedrooms. The bedroom has twin beds, its own sofa, fitted wardrobes and doors to the terrace.
It has a luxury bathroom. Upstairs, there are two twin bedrooms with fitted wardrobes which share a shower room on the landing. Next to the shower room is a laundry room. There is also the principal en-suite bedroom, with large double bed. Its bathroom also has both bath and walk-in shower. Doors open out onto the west roof terrace.
There is air-conditioning throughout for the summer, and underfloor heating throughout for the winter.
The house is beautifully decorated in a mixture of antique and modern styles. All the fittings and fixtures are of a high quality and natural materials - wood, ceramic, cotton - predominate. We love the interior of this house, and so will you. The principal outside space is the large south-facing terrace. This is shaded by a cane roof for summer and looks out over the pool area below and the surrounding countryside.
Adjacent to the terrace is a large covered area with built-in seating and a built-in barbeque.Access to the pool is through the the garden as it lies at a lower level than the house. To the rear of the pool is a large terrace with sun beds.
The pool is an infinity pool at its farthest end and is 6m wide by 12 m long. It is surrounded by wooded countryside and is completely private. It's a jem.The house is situated in 7 hectares of its own land.
