Further details for this holiday lodge rental in Camelford, United Kingdom

The self catering property is set in a tranquil valley on the edge of the River Inny in a select, gated, managed development, with Tintagel & Boscastle nearby. The garden adjoins the River Inny. The lodge is close to the North Cornwall coast, situated on the edge of Bodmin/Davidstow Moor. Come to enjoy the peaceful setting, listening to the river flowing by. Enjoy wonderfully relaxing evenings with a glass of wine; listen to the variety of visiting birds: see some beautiful night skies away from city light pollution. There are 2 double bedrooms on the first floor, (1 with a double bed and TV, the other with 2 single beds). There is another bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed, and a very comfortable open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area. A welcome tray is provided and a provisions box from a local farm shop can be provided at an extra cost upon request.

All radiators have their own thermostatic, timed controls. The lounge area has a gas stove (wood burner effect)

There are heated towel rails in the bathrooms. Together with excellent insulation, this makes the lodge an ideal property to visit during the colder months. It looks extremely pretty when everywhere is frosted over and just as lovely when covered in snow.

Golf:

There are numerous excellent golf courses to be visited in Cornwall at any time of the year, several within a short 'driving' distance of Waterside Lodge! After your game, get in a different round and a satisfying meal at one of the many warm and inviting village pubs in the area!

One not to miss!

Review Submitted: November 19, 2011 Date of Stay: October 2011
One not to miss!

Had a fantastic long weekend, made all the better by a sunny end to October.
On arrival there were scones and fresh cream for us as a welcome treat, I was not expecting that but it was a lovely touch. The lodge was immaculate and full of character.

The ground floor bedroom and walk in shower was perfect as my brother Kevin is in a wheelchair. It’s nice that the lodge caters for everybody.

There’s loads to do and see around port Isaac and if you like surfing don’t forget to visit polzeath.

We would rate six stars if we could but will have to settle for five.

We all had a fantastic time and will definitely be back. Oh yes I nearly forgot, try the fish and chips from peckish in Camelford. There simply the best.

Thanks very much the Kilner brothers.

Family of 4 had our best holiday ever!

Review Submitted: September 3, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
This property is superb! We were delighted to find a clean, well equipped and homely lodge. Some of the less obvious items provided in the lodge that we made use of were the cold block to keep our picnic sandwiches cool, childs cutlery, a drawer full of tourist attraction leaflets, books and maps, DVD collection, washer drier machine, with two tablets and dishwasher tablets, stair gate, independent electric towel rails in both bathrooms, jug of milk for that well deserved cup of tea on arrival, and a lovely treat of scones with jam and clotted cream! We wished that we had booked a 2 week break and then would have made better use of the other facilities available such as a BBQ and patio furniture in the back garden and play tennis in the nearby court.

In terms of the location of the lodge in Cornwall, I would say that it was ideal. In fact our favourite day was spent just a few miles away in Tintagel, where there is a castle ruin set on magnificent coastline and then 3 miles along the coast in Boscastle. This village was in the news back in 2004 after it's dreadful flood.

4 miles away from the lodge is the village of Camelford. We stopped here to experience the recently awarded Best Fish and Chip take-away in the South-West Counties.

To the north-west, is Bude, where the nearest Supermarket is situated, and on our way there we stumbled across Widemouth Bay which was beautiful, particularly when the tide is out. We stopped and had a great time clambering on the rocks and in the pools which are scattered along the bay. As you are heading to Bude, from Davidstow look out for sign posts for the Scenic Coastal road and follow it all the way into the town itself. Widemouth bay is along this road.

We loved Cornwall, and will return in the future. There is so much to see and do; a week is not enough! More to the point; we would definitely book to stay in this wonderful property again.
Thank you Peter and Jane for contributing to our excellent holiday!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, both for the lodge and the area. We are sure that many others will visit North Cornwall as a result of your enthusiasm. Cornwall has lots to offer all year round. Having experienced self catering accommodation ranging from excellent to abysmal ourselves, we did set out to provide everything we could, to make Waterside Lodge a “home from home”.

Wonderful Cornish Lodge

Review Submitted: August 2, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this wonderful lodge. My husband, 3 children (aged 14, 11, 11) and myself had such a relaxing break. The lodge is equipped with everything you could possible need, I can honestly say this is the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. My children had great fun playing on the tennis court - rackets and balls are provided for your use. There are lots of wonderful places to visit just a short drive away, we went to Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tintagel and Padstow. We also visited the wonderful beaches at Bude, Polzeath and Newquay. Jane and Peter provided excellect customer service and I shall definitely be recommending this outstanding accommodation to family and friends.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your flattering review. I'm so glad you all enjoyed your time at the lodge, but even more that your family had the opportunity to explore what I consider to be one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Would recommend to anyone!

Review Submitted: June 21, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
The lodge was beautiful and the photos do not give it justice! When we arrived Cornish Cream teas were waiting for us which was a fantastic personal touch. There were four adults in our group and we all slept very comfortably however would be able to hold upto six if required.

Looking forward to booking again next year! Complete value for money!

Don't Dodge this Lodge

Review Submitted: May 26, 2011 Date of Stay: May 2011
If you are looking for a tranquil setting, and an excellent base to do some exploring in North Cornwall, this delightul lodge is for you.Set in a quiet lane just a few hundred yards from the main road leading to Camelford, the lodge is a modern, well equipped property that has an immediate 'home from home ' feel to it, with lots of beams and features that give it real character. And before I forget a scrummy and much appreciated cream tea left on the dining table for our arrival, was we thought a lovely touch.

Great credit to the owners who really have thought of everything in order to make your holiday as comfortable and stress free as possible, and we were hard pressed to think of anything that they had failed to provide, even down to an excellent DVD library which we made full use of on the one rainy day we had during our stay.

Very clean, and well maintained, with the added bonus for us personally of a downstairs wet room and double bedroom, making it ideal for anyone who may have someone traveling with them that is less physically able , with parking virtually outside the front door, and a lovely quaint rear garden to enjoy the surrounding countryside on sunnier days, it's no suprise we were all certainly sad to be leaving there, as I don't think we'd had such a peaceful night's sleep for years!!

I've stayed in a wide variety of holiday rentals over many years, and this one certainly rates very highly,so if you're looking for a peaceful retreat after long days exploring the beautiful cornish coastline look no further.
