A modern apartment with beautiful views over the countryside to the Etang de Thau. With two balconies giving it a double aspect and a refreshingly cooling breeze in the summer months. It has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, walk in shower, separate toilet and large open plan kitchen/dining/living room. Secure parking is available adjacent to the entrance of the apartment, which is located in a gated commune. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from the centre of the town and the port, where you can find the best France has to offer in shellfish, meat and wine. Marseillan itself is an ancient Greek Phonecian town, founded in the 6th century BC. In 2006 The Sunday Times described Marseillan as being 'like St Tropez before Bardot. Staggeringly pretty, one of the most unspoiled ports in France'. Put simply, it is a town that captured our hearts many years ago; and which we look forward to returning to every year since.

Marseillan Plage is approx 5km from the apartment and offers over 15km of safe sandy beaches. Alternatively, there are small local beaches on the Etang de Thau. Boat trips can be taken around the Etang to give a close up view of the oyster beds. Sailing courses are also available in Marseillan. At the Canal du Midi nearby you can cycle, walk, fish or canoe in a very pleasant environment. For the slightly more adventurous, there is kayaking available in the hills to the north of Beziers and also to the north east where you can kayak below the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, at this world heritage site. Other historical sites in the area include the medieval village of Saint Guilhem le Desert , La Grotte de Clamous (a huge cave that can be explored with a guide) and a visit to the regional capital of Montpellier is always worthwhile. For the energetic of you, Aqualand at Cap D'Agde, is one of Europe's best known water parks.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rentals run from Saturday to Saturday. The apartment is to be vacated by 10am, with arrivals not before 3pm.

    A welcome pack is included consisting of a bottle of wine, bottle of water and a carton of milk.

    NEW LCD TV NOW IN THE APARTMENT - French 'Freeview' channels only at the moment.

    Bed Linen included in the price.

    Bath towels can be provided at an additional cost of £5 per person - you need to bring your own beach towels.

    A 25% deposit is required when making the booking, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before the arrival date.

    Bookings within 6 weeks require full payment with the booking.

    £150 Security deposit is required against accidental damage.

    Apartment to be left clean on completion. Cleaning can be arranged at 60 Euros paid locally. If mid holiday cleaning is required, this will be charged at the same rate. Arrangements for this needs to be made in advance.
  • Out of season short / longer term rentals considered. Please ask for a quote. Change over days may also be flexible out of season or by arrangement.

    Can accept payment in Euros by direct bank transfer to our bank account only.

The property is modern, being completed in 2008. Located on the upper floor, it has a large east facing balcony and smaller south facing balcony giving a refreshing breeze through the property in the warm summer months. The main area is set out in an open plan design, comprising a fully equiped kitchen with all modern equipment including a washing machine, a dining area with a table that seats 4 and a lounge area with two seater sofa and two chairs. A coffee table and CD player complete the area. There are some CDs in the apartment that you are welcome to use, or bring your own. The player has an MP3 connection and if you can figure out how to use it, please do ....... and let us into the secret! Bedroom 1 has a double bed, built in storage wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps and a mirror. Bedroom 2 has two single beds, built in storage wardrobe, bedside table, lamp and a mirror. There is a shower room with new walk in shower and vanity unit. There is a separate WC.

The flooring throughout is finished with ceramic tiles. The nearest airport to the property is Beziers but it is also within easy reach of Montpellier, Perpignan and Carcassonne.

Recent comments we have received from guests. 1....'we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Marseillan. Your flat is really lovely, very comfortable, and we felt at home there immediately. The situation is just perfect for walking into town and the port, and we certainly sampled plenty of good food, wine and beer..........I hope you won't mind my spreading the details of the flat to my close friends. Although we had thought to keep the secret for ourselves'. 2. Lovely apartment.
Great area.
Situated very well for access to the town and facilities.
Superb choice of restuarants and bars.
Walking distance of harbour and town.
