At the heart of the Auvergne in a national park, Les Hirondelles is situated in the hamlet of Chabanol, near St Etienne-sur-Usson. The property consists of an old Auvergne farmhouse where we offer B&B, and a converted barn which is the Gite. The gite offers loads of space for a relaxed family holiday. Locally there are lots of things to see and do for all ages.

Beautiful walking area with signed paths on the doorstep. The area abounds with wildlife and birds. Mountain bike hire close by for the energetic. Swimming lake with supervised area for children at Vernet la Verenne (8kms). Sauxillanges (8kms) is a historical Clusien village. Issoire (15kms). Cleremont Ferrand and Puy de Dome (45kms). Vulcania and the Volcan National park. Lots of places to explore in the mountains such as St Nectaire, Mont Dore, and Besse. In winter skiing at Super Besse. Recomended day trips to Puy en Velay, Vichy, Chaise Dieu, St Flour, Blesle and the Cantal mountains and many more. Lots of local markets.

The gite is very spacious and has one large bedroom, a mezzanine bedroom, well equipped kitchen, shower room, living area with ceiling beams and woodburning stove. The gite sleeps 6-8 people comfortably and is well supplied with books, jigsaw puzzles and board games. From the large garden there are fabulous views over open countryside to the Sancy mountains and ski areas. Les Hirondelles provides a peaceful place to relax with walking, bird watching, and opportunities for day trips. Well behaved pets are welcome.
