This large cottage is in the heart of stunning White Cliffs Country on the Kent coast, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The spacious living area, all on one floor with wheelchair access, includes a large comfortable lounge/diner with a unique central log fire and bar, and very well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms all have TVs, basins and lovely views, and the bathroom has a large corner jacuzzi bath and power shower with body jets. Outside in the pretty enclosed cottage garden, relax over a leisurely breakfast on the patio in the morning sunshine and enjoy the gorgeous countryside views from the sunny garden deck while dining al fresco or sipping a drink - the nearby excellent farmshop can arrange BBQ packs & local cider tasting.

There are lots of great restaurants with fresh local meat, seafood & live music, and some with a Continental feel. Within easy reach of shops, attractions, places of historical interest and wonderful seaside towns. Family friendly pub nearby.

There are several beautiful walks accessible directly from the cottage. Also enjoy watersports, fishing, boat trips, and freshly caught seafood. For walkers/ramblers, explore the stunning North Downs & Saxon Shore Way. The cottage is only a 2 minute drive to a unique clifftop cafe with stunning views over the Channel to France, and a superb farmshop.

The cathedral city of Canterbury is great for shopping, restaurants & culture and is within easy reach, also the wonderful seaside towns of Deal, Rye, Broadstairs, and the ancient market town of Sandwich.

  • Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required, refunded within 1 week of your departure (subject to a satisfactory property inspection).
    One third or £100 whichever greater of total rental due within 1 week of booking. Balance payable no later than 6 weeks before arrival. Late payments will incur a charge.
    Payment required in full if booking within 6 weeks of arrival.
    Utilities charge £30pw beginning Oct to start of May, £20pw start May-end Sept. Logs available to buy.
    Patio heater gas and barbecue gas available at £5 per week each.
    Towels, tea towels, bedlinen included in the rate.
    Highchair and cot free of charge.
    No charge for dogs.
    Late arrivals must be pre-agreed. Lets usually Saturday to Saturday. We accept payment by cheque and electronic bank transfer (free) and credit/debit card via Paypal (surcharge 3.4% UK, 3.9% from overseas ) - all charges to be paid by the holidaymaker.
  • Short Breaks are available and rates are as follows (not available in high season):
    2/3 nights - 60% of the weekly rate (75% 24th Dec to 6th Jan)
    4 nights - 75% of the weekly rate
    5 nights - 85% of the weekly rate
    6 nights - 95% of the weekly rate
  • Please bring your own beach towels, thank you.
    Well behaved dogs are allowed, but sorry no cats.
    Please do not allow your dog in the bedrooms.
    Strictly no smoking at the property except outside only.

  • The single bedroom has adult size bunk beds. Lovely countryside views from all bedrooms, and ample storage and wardrobe space. All bedrooms have full length and dressing table mirrors, televisions, and washbasins with mirror over for added convenience. The rear bedroom is decorated in a traditional style, whilst the front bedroom is more contemporary. All beds have comfort mattresses except the rear bedroom which has a superior memory foam mattress, and quality Egyptian cotton sheets for a luxurious and blissful night's sleep.

Notes: The spacious lounge has a flatscreen Sky+HD TV 46' with blu ray DVD and home cinema system. The unique central fireplace houses a carbon neutral woodburning double ended stove for gorgeous, cosy warm evenings in the cooler months. In the corner opposite the dining area is a bar with a fridge/freezer, champagne bucket and plenty of glasses. The room has two large bay windows which flood the room with lots of natural light. The kitchen is spacious and is very well equipped, with a lovely view of the garden from the window, and door which leads out onto the patio - perfect for breakfast on sunny mornings. The large, pretty cottage style garden is equipped for al fresco dining, with a barbecue and patio heater, with magnificent views to gaze at whilst lounging in the sunshine or under a tree, listening to the gentle hum of bees. It is a haven for wildlife and frequent visitors are rabbits, squirrels, woodpeckers and numerous other birds.

Kent is England's oldest county, and know as the Garden of England. With a mild maritime climate, it is a beautiful county of countryside, woodland, village and vineyard, orchards and oasthouses. It also has miles and miles of spectacular and diverse coastline to explore, including the internationally famous White Cliffs of Dover, an iconic emblem of our shores. The beach at nearby St Margaret's is the closest point to France, and the South Foreland Lighthouse is the first place in the country to see the sunrise every day because of its location in the very south east corner of England. Children will love the beaches, boat trips and countryside, and there are several castles to visit as well as Dover Castle, including lovely Leeds Castle, set in 500 acres of parkland, and Deal and Walmer Castles. Canterbury is a must to visit with its famous Cathedral, and also try Historic Chatham Dockyard where the flagship of the Royal Navy fleet, Nelson's HMS Victory, was built.

There's the Thanet coastline to explore with many award winning sandy beaches, and Whitstable famous for oysters. South of Dover is Rye, with charming little streets and shops, and Winchelsea, a Napoleanic garrison town. If you're a cyclist, try the Crab and Winkle Way, as well as many coastal and country trails. If you sigh wistfully at the sight and sound of steam trains, visit Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, Kent's mainline in miniature.

Beautiful and relaxed stay

We had a really beautiful and relaxed stay here at Fox's Crossing - it was nice to walk along the White Cliffs and a great opportunity to get to know England - the scenery from the hill to the sea is fantastic. But we always loved to come "home" to Fox's Crossing. Thank you for everything, and for your great hospitality.
